“Previous Reviews Are Spot On !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

I stayed for 2 nights in April and found the motel exactly as previous reviewers have reported.
Everything was as it should be, especially the quality of the bed and linen - top class. It's only a short walk to the restaurants, ferry/boat pier and convenience stores whilst being far enough away to be quiet. When I stayed I think Paul had the only full house - he deserves it as this is a top class motel run by a very friendly, hands on person.

We stayed at The Dolphin for 2 nights back in March. The 2 bedroom apartment was wonderful and very spacious. Paul was brilliant! He gave us tips on places to visit, helped us with the toll payments and with his local knowledge was able to get us onward accomodation in Auckland at very short notice. The location was excellent, a short stroll and you were at the beach and the shops. I hope I get a chance to stay here again,
Pete from Yorkshire

Our family of 4 stayed two nights just after Easter, and had a very comfortable room, much better standard then the usual motel rooms you find. Paul was most helpful with booking tours, and general knowledge of the area, and NZ in general. If we are ever up this way again, we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at the Dolphin for one night during a busy Easter weekend. It was everything we could have asked for, we only stayed for a short night with an early start the next day.

On arrival Paul the manager was very friendly, and a beer with check in is always welcome!

The room itself was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Bathroom and shower was lovely and clean, with a lovely hot refreshing shower.
The bed was very comfy, and sheets were fresh and clean.
Great central location, just 5 mins walk from the restaurants and jetty.

We would definitely use this motel again as it was everything we needed and would stay longer next time.

Paul was extremely hospitable when we arrived and even shouted us a beer. The Motel is close to shops and restaurants but still in a calm and quiet area. The room we stayed in was clean but a bit small. Next time we will be in Paihia we will book a bigger room but definitely at the Dolphin.

Stayed at the Dolphin motel again this weekend (second visit).
The rooms are spotlessly clean and the location is excellent.
Paul the manager is very friendly and helpful and has great local knowledge of the area.
Went on an overnight cruise and as Paul had space in his car park allowed us to leave the car overnight so it was safe and secure.
Looking forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: Good variety of rooms to choose from - studios to 2 bedroom units.

We came across the motel by sheer accident we were parked outside the library using the free Internet looking for some where to stay. We had a few awful experiences in a number of hotels which we had located using the booking sites. I looked across the road and saw a number of motels / motels with vacancies. My husband and I were travelling with my son of 26 years who lives in New Zealand so we needed a place with space which we could all stay!
I sent my son to the Dolphin we were met by Paul who welcomed us with open arms and showed us to a very large apartment with lots of space and a very welcome spa bath at a very reasonable cost. The apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean with plenty of space to get a break from my son.
Paul was so kind we wanted to go to a venue for the evening which was quite a long way from the motel we enquired about transport Paul immediately offered us a lift he also informed us of a number of worthwhile places to visit for both my husband and I and my son as we all have various tastes.
I would strongly recommend this motel if staying in Paihia. I just wish I could return!
