“Superb Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2009

Although not one for resorts preferring business hotels however this location is really a holiday town and as such these apartments provide a ringside view of the Bay of Islands and the Ocean with a friendly welcome, helpful manager , clean apartments and plenty of facilities. Parking was a bit tight and its on a steep hillside location. Local restaurants were poor so the self catering element was appreciated.

This is the great thing about this website, you can discover places that were not previously on your radar.
i booked this purely because of the consistency of the reviews on this site and I wasnt disappointed.
After a weary journey, we were met by very helpful and friendly hosts, the apartment was magnificent, 2 huge balconies, every possible amenity, views that were really inspiring and plenty of space for a family, the kids loved it and so did we.
I could not recommend it highly enough, we only stayed 2 nights and i wish we had stayed at least 4 nights.
The overall area is really lovely, we took the boat to Russell which is an interesting and charming place.

I simply cannot reccomend these apartments enough.

Mysef and my partner stayed here as part of our Christmas trip to New Zealand. We were a little anxious about staying at self catering apartments as usually we stay in hotels but the apartments are *easily* as good as many 5* hotels.

Our apartment was tastefully decorated and equipped with everything we possibly could have needed and more. Lovely little touches such as the provision of DVD player and DVDs, and a bottle of wine in the fridge when we arrived plus the delivery of a morning newspaper each day did not cost any extra and really made the difference between a great place and a superb one!

The balconies have a lovely view over the bay and ours also had a jacuzzi and barbecue so we could enjoy the views from the comfort of the jacuzzi. There are very few places you could expect this kind of luxury for the very fair prices they charge.

The service from the management was also charming and friendly throughout. We will definately be back.

  • Liked — The balcony with the hot tub
  • Disliked — That we had to leave!

After a long day driving from Auckland up through the Kauri forests we arrived at the Blue Pacific. We had booked this apartment after much consideration of where we wanted to be located in the Bay of Islands and the fantastic reviews from Trip Advisor's who had visited previously…we were not disappointed!!! We were greeted by Kerry who gave us a tour of our apartment and indicated all the things we should know re our stay (this was excellent).
WiFi internet is now free at the Blue Pacific and you get a card from Kerry each day and it allows you 2 hours free internet access (need your own computer)- this is great for keeping in contact with family etc…it worked really well. The apartment was excellent- we had a BBQ on the balcony and watched the moods of the bay change. A large supermarket is just around the corner and opens to midnight so it is very easy to get provisions for your stay.
There were no fly wire screens in the apartment and coming from Australia I thought of mosquitoes etc…but no not one…what a bonus! The apartment came with everything: well laid out kitchen with all you need, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, excellent beds, comfortable lounges etc and nice touches like tea lights on the dining table. The flat screen TV which we must admit we turned on only once had many channels (Sky etc).
The apartments are set up on the hill and above the road, which is between the hotel and the beach…this is good as there was very limited road noise at night…it was great to wake up to the sound of lapping water and the lovely bird noises from all the birds inhabiting the area around the hotel…..and the sunrises to write home about!!! Paihia itself is a lovely place to stay: great walks, good shopping, good food…GREAT PLACE and Waitangi is a hop, skip and jump away
Just excellent….don’t even consider staying anywhere else Blue Pacific Apartments is just a great place to stay and the Bay of Islands is a wonderful place to visit…we shall be back!

We stayed here at the end of our holiday and we were blown away. We didn't know where to stay yet, so the excellent host let us take a walk through the rooms to decide and one look and we were more than happy. There were magnificent veiws from the two balconies, A double spa bath, entertainment system with 50 channels, a washer and dryer in the room and a very modern kitchen which all helped to make it seem like you had your own apartment for your stay. The hosts were more than willing to help you with whatever you needed, they booked our cruise for the day and even drove us to the dock. There was also a woolworths 5 mins walk away which also came in handy. We will definately stay here on our next visit to New Zealand and we highly recommend it for anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Paihia. A very big thanks again for a wonderful stay :)

STUNNING.

What a little gem of a place. The staff (Donna) who runs this Apartment/Hotel with her husband, is so friendly and welcoming, we felt like we were part of her family.

We had booked Apartment 2 which has a 180 degree view of the beach/islands. I can only recommend this two bedroom apartment. It is just lovely. The only complaint I have is that the furniture was a little old fashioned and needs to be updated and the second bedroom was small - but quite honestly, it didn't detract from our stay. We had a barbeque, spa, lovely outdoor furniture and a view that still hasn't left our mind.

The kitchen had all the modern cons, we also had a washing machine/dryer and a lovely bathroom (although small was more than adequate).

The hotel is around the corner from a great supermarket and about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town.

We just loved this place and would recommend it to anyone and would stay there again.

My partner and I stayed hear on a visit to NZ, AZ and HK. What an absolute delight, the owners were superb, the apartment was huge, clean, the views were amazing and just relaxing in our hot tub was one fo the highlights of our trip. It is also worth noting it slightly out of the mix which is a really good thing and it is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Paihia and there is a supermarket just around the corner. Brilliant place don't go anywher else in Paihia!
