“Great place to hang around in Paihia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

El Cafe is great to hang around, the food is amazing just like South America. Javier the owner is a great guy and his food is amazing, add free Wi Fi and you get a great place to meet new people and have some great coffee.

“Delicious South American food, very reasonably priced.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013 via mobile

We just finished breakfast at el Cafe, and we really enjoyed it. The breakfast burritos were delicious, and very reasonably priced at $8.50 (I don't think you'll find a better breakfast for that price anywhere in NZ) They came with a side of tortilla chips and fresh salsa. The coffee was really good - they serve Allpress, and I couldn't fault it, the English Breakfast tea was also good, nice and strong, using loose tea leaves in a pot. I'm genuinely considering going back for dinner tonight.

The service was friendly and free wifi a bonus.

“Great Vegetarian Burritos - Cheap - free WiFi!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Stopped at this cafe three times during my week in Paihia. There is a deal where you can get a breakfast burrito and coffee for 10 dollars. Definitely worth it. Did not try the bacon and egg burrito but the vegetarian was great!

There is also free wi-fi if you're having a meal and lots of plugs for computers.

There is the option of outdoor seating as well.

The menu included things like 4$ Empinadas, 6$ (I think??) tacos or two for 10$.

Best value for money that's for sure!
