“Great room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

My wife and I visited here in September whilst following the magnificent Welsh team in the World Cup. Booked a brilliant room, with lovely spa bath and view of the bay. Good value, very clean and in good condition. Very helpful owners. Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great room with sea views and the spa bath is the best we have seen in motels. Admirals view has all the extra's you would need when on holiday in the Bay.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of a three week trip through New Zealand. It was tucked back a block from the ocean, but was perched up high enough to provide some view out to the sea. Our room had a small kitchen space which allowed us to make our own meals if we so choose. A small convince store with groceries was a five minute walk away as well as several restaurants. If traveling with a car down the way was a bigger and more commercial grocery store for larger purchases. A ten minute walk and you were at the ferry terminal for Russell. While it rained through most of our stay to prevent us from taking advantage; the lodge provided free bicycle rentals which would have been a great way to see the mostly flat town. A free computer with internet was at the main office, but the hotel also provided free Wi-Fi. (Though the booklet in your room says thee is a charge they provided us with the access for free.). Clean and efficient for our needs with helpful front desk staff made it a great place for our wet stay in Paihia.

Room Tip: 2 stories with no elevators.

Our room in Admiral's Lodge had fantastic views from our shared balcony. Reasonably priced, it is centrally located in Paihia, with comfy beds, spa baths, nice toiletries and free use of bathrobes. There are also laundry facilities and a Wi-Fi cafe on site. The receptionist was very friendly, and we appreciated the quiet and clean surroundings.

Room Tip: Good location

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2011

My husband and I were travelling throughout New Zealand, from Canada, on a three-week vacation in January 2011.

We checked out a lot of motels in the area and decided on Admirals View Lodge. It was a great decision. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was immaculate and new and bright. Management/owners have certainly put some thought into what the guests will need and the finishing touches are just a step up from other motels we stayed at along the way. The attention to detail is quite obvious. From the choice of dishes in the kitchenette, to the amenities and fixtures in the bathroom, the rooms are very nicely done.

After a long hot day of driving and being out in the more humid, hot area of New Zealand, the air conditioning in the room was a very welcome ammenity. Not all motels/hotels in New Zealand have air conditioning, so when you find one, you really enjoy it and appreciate it.

There are washers and dryers on the property, so you can do your laundry while you relax in your air conditioned room, or sit outside on your patio. Parking is right out front, so that's handy as well.

We would highly recommend staying at this lodge if you will be visiting Paihia.

we stayed with our 14 year old son in a 2 bedroom apartment for 9 days and left yesterday. Really nice and clean with good facilities and lots of room. An easy walk to the beach and across to the tennis court . Paihia is a wonderful holiday town with lots to do and very tropical weather. Our host Deb ( her husband was away) went out of her way to make our stay really special - even letting us have her daily newspaper!! All the staff were lovely and it was a fantastic place to stay.
