We booked 2 nights stay thru Grabone deal. Best view ever with the sound of waterfall at night. Will definitely visit again. Continental breakfast comes in a box and there's no cook breakfast available. Room equipped with basic stuffs.

We first discovered the secret of Haruru Falls Resort before Christmas last year. A magical spot, with the view of the lagoon and sound of the Falls as a relaxing backdrop. There is so much to rave about here. Jan, Heather and the staff made us feel at home straight away. Nothing too much trouble. We enjoyed the facilities, the pool, bbq, the restaurant and bar. Plenty to do for children, kayaks, giant chess, volleyball, etc.

The Falls are only a 10 minute walk from the Resort, and a bonus is that the Resort is only 5 minutes drive from Pahia, shops and beaches, and a short ferry ride to Russell.

A wonderful discovery for us, try it for yourself!!

and friendly staff

After reading lots of review and the info the web I wnet ahead and booked through a grab one deal.
The falls are a natural wonder, grounds of the resort are well kept. The room was very basic not even a box of tissues. Our breakfast was included in the deal and we were very surprised to be handed it in a box at check in. After our drive up there we decidied to have a bit of a lie down before heading out for dinner, we were some what intrupted by the resident dog who is very cute scratching on the unit door and barking wanting to come in.
If you are looking for clean and tidy no frills then this is the place for you. Would be great place for family get away.

Would not think twice about returning to this resort! Great value for money very hospitable service great location and top class facilities! Fantastic all round experience really made our trip to the bay of islands brilliant! Also the fact that we got complimentary transport into paihia was just the icing on the cake!

Haruru Falls Resort was our stop after our first day in NZ. Our nerves were raw from "right hand drive" between Auckland and Paihia. Jan and the staff at Haruru Falls Resort made us at home with their "no problem" attitude.

The sound of the falls was a delightful background. The grounds and view were lovely, and the dining room offerings were exceptional. We only wish we had booked a month's stay!

We arrived at Haruru just before Easter and were greated with a friendly welcome and were given some maps and handy advice on different walks and things to do around the area.

Tent sites were decent sized and had awesome views of the falls.

Grounds and Pool area were well maintained, Kitchen and Toilet areas were clean for a camping ground. Free hot showers were a bonus (not coin operated).

Kayaks were available to hire at $15 per hour (would recommend kayaking up to the falls).
Ice, Pizza, Icecream and a Bar menu were all available at the bar and restaurant although we didn't use them.

Definitely the better of the 2 campgrounds at Haruru falls, especially if you get a camping site on the waterfront.

The pool is HUGE, would be great over the summer period, we were there over Easter and it was a little on the cold side, but well maintained and clean.

Would definitely stay there again, especially in the quiet periods where you feel like you have the place to yourself.

Room Tip: Either campsite 93 or 63 (cant remember) was right on the river side, under a palm tree and had an e...

The setting of this resort is lovely, beautiful views and plenty to keep the family busy. Unfortunately the management was not so great. We were camping and enjoying the evening when we were yelled at from a balcony by the owner at 930pm for being too loud. We had 5 kids asleep in tents that we didn't want awake so were definitely not loud, her comment 'don't make me come down there' made us feel most unwelcome. Our second day followed similar pattern when in the middle of watching rugby in the bar (same lady) came and turned tv over and said we always watch the news at 6pm. There was no one else in bar so struggled to follow her logic. We stayed 3 nights and during that time I don't think the toilets were cleaned. There was a horrible smell and they were very dirty. While free and warm it was almost unbearable to be in there. It wouldn't take much effort to keep clean especially when staff spent a lot of time sitting around in sun. It's a shame such a beautiful place was tarnished by this. Management need a good dose of old fashion customer service training.
