Stayed here with a tour group. Important to note that this is a motel and therefore the majority of rooms overlook the car park and opposite wing so no nice views. However rooms are clean and spacious with comfortable beds. The location isexcellent with the ferry terminal a short walk away and shps cafes also. Wifi restricted to half hour free and can only be picked up close to the reception area. Food was very good and the restaurant has lovely view over the bay and motel swimming pool. Overall good service super location.

Room Tip: Maybe upgrade to suite overlooking the bay.

Thank you for your feedback. Our standard rooms do not have views however we have 12 suites which have great views over the water. We are currently looking at options to upgrade our Wifi service.

The location of this hotel was great, just 5 minute walk from the ferry/boat buildings and the shops. We were on the ground floor with the rest of our group and signs showing easy access for wheelchairs appeared in every passage. Odd though that the only way to the restaurant was up two flights of stairs and there were no lifts available. The pool looked inviting however the weather didn't brighten up for us to try it. Our room was comfortable and the no smoking signs on each door was nice to see. We were in a group of 14 and had been told to be seated by 1830 in the Reef Restaurant. This accomplished we watched as the rest of the guests were being served and we were left until about hour later before in filling orders! We had a choice for each of our three courses: Veg soup/prawn cocktail; roast lamb/T boast steak each with veges and jacket potatoes; pavlova/dutch apple pie. My wife and I chose the prawn/lamb/pavlova and thoroughly enjoyed each course except that there was too much lamb! Others that had different selections all enjoyed them too. We breakfasted two mornings to scrambled eggs, bacon, tomatoes, hash browns, baked beans and the best sausages I've tasted in a long time. A pleasant stay with pleasant and helpful staff. Worth a visit.

Room Tip: Ground floor accommodation suited us.

Great until I was in the room and opened the door out to the patio only to be greeted by a couple of smoke butts. Yuck. Kinda tainted my view as to the cleanliness. Shame.
Very dated TV and no sky mag.
Breakfast very nice.
Dreadful Barista coffee off 3 different staff. Gave up after that.
Conference ran smoothly for 600 attendees.
Staff were very accomodating and friendly.
First time I've rung for something left behind and it's been there. I almost always leave things behind.

Room Tip: your room reflects the price

Although all our rooms are non smoking we cannot stop people smoking outside their rooms and cigarette butts can occasionally be a bit of a problem. Normally our staff are pretty vigilant about picking up butts however I apologise that they missed these couple of butts.
Three quarters of our rooms have flat screen TVs and we plan to replace the remaining TVs next year.
I am pleased that your conference went so well.

Room good, staff good, location great but to me what let it down was there was no where to sit outside your room. The rooms downstairs all opened out onto a carpark (unless you got the front ones) Sure the beach was across the road and there was a pool area but it wasnt over warm and would have had to take your stuff with you. You might say you don't visit the area to stay in your room but the weather wasn't great and I did have an elderly person with me. I would have liked to have access with a private garden or a garden in the middle and parking on the outside which is more usual for this type of resort type place. The upstairs did have blaconies (which also looked over the carpark) but apart from a few front apartments, none of the downstairs ones did.

I would like to provide a garden courtyard that our rooms could look over however the cost of the land and maintenance of these gardens would mean we would have to charge quite a bit more for our rooms.
As you mentioned we have a pool area with very nice gardens at the front of our hotel where many guests sit to relax. There is also an undercover area beside the pool. It is also possible to sit in our reception or bar area which both have an outlook over the sea.

We also have 12 suites with balconies that look over the sea and our gardens however we charge more for these than for our standard rooms.

Regards

Great place to stay as it is literally right on the water and very close to shops, cafes, and all tour operators. Beautiful view from the top rooms overlooking the blue sparkling harbour and I can imagine the bar at the top would have a great view too (I went to the bar at night so was challenged by the dark) Rooms were tidy, comfy and nice. No kitchenette in the studio room which was the downfall as you have to buy food all the time =( Countdown round the corner and beautiful beaches. Short drive to Waitangi and is just a lovely place to stroll around in Paihia. Locals are all very nice and friendly. Beautiful weather for the 2 days of 26degrees..making the hotel pool very tempting =) Indoor spa and games room included.

Room Tip: If you want the versatility of bringing your own food to coook and plan on staying more than 2 night...

Although our room was a little tired, it was certainly comfortable and well serviced. We were particularly impressed by the fine cooked breakfast served in a restaurant with a stunning view. All staff were very friendly and helpful, but computer wifi availability could be improved. Laundry facilities were conveniently located. We enjoyed our early morning esplanade walks in the vicinity and found the hotel was ideally located for quick access to both the nearby wharf for boat trips and the main street shopping/dining strip. For what we paid we thought the hotel was fine!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear of the complex, away from the busy coast road.

Thank you for your feedback. Although I was a little surprised with your comment 'our room was a little tired' as we have spent $3.5m over the last 5 years refurbishing all our rooms plus the majority of the public areas.

However I agree with your comment regarding the central location of the hotel.

Regards.
