We booked unit #9, a spacious 2-br ground-floor unit with a beautiful view out to the Wairangi Reserve and Russell beyond. The unit was very well equipped with all the necessities for cooking, good towels, comfortable beds, etc. The laundry was convenient and at $2 per load, reasonably priced. The Internet was also good and the amount provided free was generous. Norm and Shelagh are gracious, friendly hosts. We really enjoyed our 3-night stay, and particularly enjoyed the day- long Dune Rider trip to Cpe Reinga they arranged for us.

Enjoyed 5 nights late January 2013. Wonderful harbour views from our apartment, excellent help from Norm and Shelagh in planning our outings and a refreshing swim every day in the well kept pool with view. The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Good location to see the sights, close to Pahia but away from the bustle. Appreciated the books and DVDs to borrow.
A relaxing and enjoyable break!

This place is quiet, very clean and the views are nice but the property was disappointing given all the very high ratings on this site. It is a motel , a well kept one, but still nothing more. The room was basic, the beds were reasonably comfortable but springy, and the bathroom also very clean. The kitchen area was useful and appliances were up to date and worked well. Norm was helpful and friendly. It's a decent place but can't figure out what all the rave reviews are about.

We stayed with Norm amd Shelagh for 3 nights early Jan 2013, and our hosts were fantastic. They gave us great advice on what to do and see and were just wonderful, down to earth people. The views from our room (apartment # 3) at the top of the driveway) were just as other reviewers have posted on this site....exceptional. The location is very quiet and only a 3 minute drive to Paihia (yes, we timed it!) We went in the peak season so Paihia was extremely busy and noisy but where we were was peaceful. The apartments have everything you need, a comfy bed, constant hot water and views you cannot tire of. If you want a relaxing holiday you really need to spend a few nights with Norm and Shelagh.
