We stayed in Unit 8 at this Motel - the pick I would say for families as we had outstanding views over Paihia, easy access to the pool (nicely heated for those fickle NZ days) , a trampoline and most importantly the BBQ! The Units are tidy and modest with everything you need so 'eating in' is usually the way to go on your deck, weather permitting. My partner and I also commented on the comfort of the bed we had four of our best sleeps here!!

The kids loved Norm and Shelagh's collection of dvds and games they could access for free and our hosts provided great advice on wet weather activities to keep the children entertained.

A word of note, it is located a few minutes from Paihia, up a hill so a car is essential and is conveniently located to a 'Countdown' supermarket. All in all our family had a great stay at this beautifully positioned Motel

We spent a few days over Christmas in this motel. Wonderful views from our bed. Motels well fitted with all you could need, and Norm and his wife most helpful and charming hosts. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area - and our grandchildren loved the good-sized swimming pool.

If you're looking for state of the art luxury with a health spa, etc, this is not it. But, if you're looking for somewhere clean, comfortable and spacious where you can wake to the sound of birds and step out onto your own private deck with the most wonderful views ever, this is definitely it.

The motel is a few minutes' drive from Paihia but totally worth it to be in such a quiet and restful place. Norm and Sheelagh are very helpful and will provide you with any information you need to make your stay in the Bay of Islands complete.

I must saythat this is one of the best place that we have stayed.
Norm made us feel at home with his warm, sincere and helpful answers to our queries on how to make best use of our time to explore the area. The view from our room is unbelievably panaromic and breadthtaking. It is an oasis of calm and tranquility. We witnessed beautiful sunrise and majestic sunsets sparkling night skies. His recommendation of the places to visit are spot on and we enjoyed every single moment that we were there.
Wished we could spend more time at this gem of a place.
In summary, wonderful host, super duper location....simply perfect.
Worth a return vist!
