“Another freebie!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2014

It's free, lovely winding road up to the very very top, breathtaking views once there of Hawkes Bay and Hastings, what more could you want for nothing!

“A "must see" attraction if in Hawke's Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

Magnificent views (on a clear and cloudless morning) over all of Hawke’s Bay – up to and beyond Napier, over to the mountains, along the river and through the multiple vineyards towards Clifton.

You can drive to the top (though walking and even bicycling up were popular and better exercise of course); the view is more splendid than from Mount Victoria in Wellington or Mount Eden/One Tree Hill in Auckland.

“a surprisingly easy hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

This walk offers spectacular views and is much less daunting than it looks. Leave early to avoid intense Summer heat and also the traffic when sightseers start to arrive about 10am. That way you can return via the road unhampered.

“Great views, worth the winding road to the top.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

This is Glynis from Kapiti 4 Seasons Tours. Our senior group loved the views and it was a nice day for photo's. We took our 25 seater coach with a very tight turning radius, making it a good trip both directions as it can be narrow in places. The locals take guests from the cruise ships and they use huge buses mostly going up or coming back at the same time to keep things running smoothly...

“Fabulous views on a clear day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

Worth the drive to the top for sensational views. Last bit of drive challenging for the timid driver.
