“Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2012

So pleased we booked to stay here...
Great location, just across the road to the beach and easy walk to town.
Was welcomed by lovely receptionist and was hassle free.
Our room was lovely and had everything you needed for a good nights stay, and quiet air conditioning made it so comfortable on a hot Hawkes Bay night!
Highly recommend anyone to stay here,it is lovely!!

We stayed in the scenic hotel for one night in Napier, and I only wish we had stayed longer! Every room in the hotel has a magnificent room of the beach - it is right on marine parade, and is absolute waterfront, only minutes walk from the town centre and Art Deco walks etc. We found the room to be clean and luxurious, lovely modern decor and a quiet, comfortable place to stay. Highly recommend.

We recently stayed at the Scenic Hotel Te Pania and had a fantastic time. The resort is very clean, modern and has amazing views from every room. The beds are comfortable and the room caters to all your needs and has great air-conditioning (awesome in summer temps). The carpark is free, however it fills up very quickly throughout the day and sometimes at night it is tricky to find a spot - having said that, the staff are very accomodating and will help out as much as they can to fit you in...
We would like to thank the staff for their assistance, when we first checked in our 1st room there was a problem with the air-conditioning, so we were quickly and effortlessly moved to another - we know that the hotel was very booked at this time, but it was no trouble and greatly appreciated!
The hotel location is awesome, and you can wander downtown easily and along the forefront to enjoy the seaviews. It is just around the corner from the Wine Tasting Centre, so it's a short stagger back if you like to indulge. There are also some fantastic restuarants in close proximity so you can again 'indulge' and wander home safely.
Across the road is the local baths (Ocean Spa Club) so although the hotel doesnt have a pool, you can access one within a minutes walk.
Everything about the Scenic Hotel Te Pania from our experience was quality... we would certainly return again on our next trip to Napier!

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better the views....

Just had three days at this hotel and it was a really good place to stay. Good sized rooms, all with a view of the ocean. Very clean and comfortable. Beds are excellent, they have a pillow menu (always a plus) and unusual for most hotels windows that actaully open, so you can choose with to have fresh sea air or air-con. The hotel is on Marine Parade, which can be a little noisy at times but overall not too bad.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Food in the restaurant wasn't as good as it had been when I'd eaten there a couple of years ago, which was a disappointment as we were travelling with family visiting from outside New Zealand.
Location of the hotel is very handy to the city centre, the spa and swimming pool complex and within easy walking distance of other restaurants and the aquarium (well worth visiting).
It's also an easy drive to the many nearby vineyards, or you can get a tour bus.
Would difinitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Room on the top floor have the best view. Ones down towards the port end of Marine Parade have view...

My husband who is a Kiwi took me to Napier as I'd never been before - it's great having a personal tour guide! We hadn't booked anything in advance and we decided on the Te Pania. We are so glad we did! The rooms are just great. We had corner room that took in both sea and promenade.
The room was just beaut. Roomy, lovely appointments and everything you needed. The check-in staff were personable and highly professional - that feeling you get "We want you stay here!" is the sign of a great hotel.
I must admit we did not eat at the hotel because our time was short but the hotel menu read very well.
All in all a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view - but I believe they all do.

The hotel looks out onto Marine Parade and the sea, and is minutes from the Art Deco centre of Napier - a perfect location. Rooms are a good size: we had a sea view. Breakfast was good and the BBQ we had in the hotel on the first night was very enjoyable, and substantial!

Room Tip: Chose a sea view room
