We only needed a light lunch and found the service to be quick and friendly. Pricing appropriate to the food ordered

“Tasty and good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

We had lunch here, with a seat right by the french doors opening onto the street. While the breeze was pleasant and it was a good spot for people-watching, it is right on a busy intersection so traffic noise occasionally interrupted the conversation.

We had a vegetable pie and a spinach and feta filo, both of which were tasty. The filo wasn't quite heated enough. The green salads that accompanied both dishes contained grated cheese in addition to the vegetables, which I found slightly odd. They were still better salads than served at many places in the Bay though, with nice crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes. The coffee was very good, and served promptly.

Overall it was good value, with a varied menu. It's a busy place, perhaps a bit lacking in ambience, but very central and conveniently located. I would go again.

“Yummy Bruch”

Whenever I am in Napier, we generally find ourselves at this cafe for brunch, as it has never let us down, food wise. Great coffee to!

“Best seafood chowder”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2013

We only spent a few hours in Napier and visited this cafe for lunch. It was very busy when we arrived and there was a long queue to order food. We found a table quite quickly but had to wait a while for our seafood chowders to arrive. A good sized bowl of chowder accompanied by chunks of toasted bread. There were substantial amounts of fish, mussels, big prawns, big scallop, absolutely delicious. The best seafood chowder we've had. Sadly we did not have time to try anything else.
