“Needs patience for great fish & chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2013

Yes, you do need patience as the wait was 25 minutes for us on a Friday night, but it's all worth it. As a non-local, we wouldn't have discovered this little gem if it we had not searched Tripadvisor. We ordered takeaway and ate at one of the tables outside. Really liked the options of being able to choose grilled fish and the different kinds of fish, and also the availability of coleslaw and salad greens. One of the best F & C we had. Very reasonably priced.

“First Night in Napier”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Arived on bus, we were traveling around New Zealand by bus, great experience. Restraunt was recomended by our hosts as was a short walk from motel.
Staff were friendly and courtious. we did not have alcohopl as we rere tired and had been traveling.
We both ordered the seafood chowder which was fantastic, full of flavour and seafood, realy warmed us up.
I had blue cod, batter was too thick but cod tasted great, my wife had chicken sates, being a thai dish we expected thm to be grilled, but were rubbed in bread crumbs and deep fried, sorry a dissapointment, overall dinner was good, needs refinment.

“Never Again!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Been customers for approx 8 yrs, so sad the lovely Dutch family has sold. It is now a real ' Mumsy/Dad café. Kids & boyfriends/girlfriends attending with Mum & Dad sitting at the table and then Mum delivering ' food for the kids' to take home. Very cold café!! No other guests and a non descript ambiance. Very floury batter with the fish and over cooked chips. We will never go back but do not think it will remain open for a long duration anyhnow.

“great quality, generous servings and lived up to the reviews on trip advisor.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

We had takeaway on a quiet night with the cook recomending the fish. It was very tasty, the batter light ( not oily) complimented by "to die for" chips in abundance. Great food, value for money and plenty of humour around the shop to give you a laugh while you wait.

“Best F & C”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

It's my favorite fish & chip shop. Their huge fish burger is also must as well as oysters and scallops.
