“A great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

We stay in Napier frequently and usually stay in Ahuriri. We couldnt get a suitable room there for our recent stay, so we booked at the Nautilus and what a pleasant suprise! We loved it. The room was very clean, spacious and well equiped. The bedding configuration was perfect for us with a king bed in the lounge area, along with a full size 3 piece leather lounge suite, and a separate twin room with 2 king single beds, also with a TV, a real treat for our daughter! We are a family of 3, 2 adults and a child. The kitchenette was excellent and had everything we required. Bathroom was great, roomy with large spa bath and tiled shower area. Clean and well set out. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Also, the price was very good for the time of year and the standard of apartment we had. The only cons for us were, we live in rural NZ and it was a little noisy, but then we are use to a very quiet environment! Parking is very tight and often you wont get a park near your unit. We have a large vehicle so this was a concern for us, however, the manager helped with this and we were able to park under the covered way with plenty of room. All in all a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely stay here again, my new favourite!!

Room Tip: Probably rooms on 2nd or third floor would be less noisy, however, there is no lift, only a baggage...

We found the rooms clean and with all the modern amenities you come to expect. front office was standand. My main gripe with our room (front facing/ocean view) was the noise generated from the traffic. The sea front road is a main road used by a large number of trucks. In fairness all the hotels along the strip would suffer the same problem.

We stayed for a night recently, room was a good size, very clean and spacious. View was great and location was to, we would definitely return. Our stay was a bit ruined due to a drunken drongo in the next room with a blaring tv but the he was dealt with. Other than that we had a great kid free night. Definitely recommend others to stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the top.

Perfect for a cute get away with your partner, the spa makes you not want to leave the room. Great location, friendly staff, great parking, beautiful view.
Totally recommend.

We stayed at the Nautilus for 2 nights in late November. The 2 bedroom suite was very clean, spacious and well furnished. Plenty of storge space and a large bathroom with a spa bath. The beds are very comfortable. A small kitchenette with a small refrigerator, ideal if you want a quick snack and don't want to eat out.
The only negative comment we had was the close proximity to the road, although the traffic is not heavy and eases up at early evening it does start rumbling passed at 5.30am onwards which we found annoying.

Room Tip: All rooms front onto the main road, the slightly quieter rooms are on the top floor
