“Fabulous country garden B&B with exceptional hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

What a wonderful entrance to this beautiful B&B - wending your way through the beautifully manicured gardens to a charming property that oozes abundance of olive groves and lavender gardens that make this property spectacular. The hosts, Daphne and Peter are exceptional hosts that provide the ultimate in friendly hospitable accommodation. Our family was with us, so having two beautiful exceptionally clean, bedrooms, each with its own en-suite was definitely a plus for us. Each bedroom had patio doors onto wooden decks with verandahs overlooking the fabulous gardens - its like a country park with such manicured lawns, the orchard, and then the olive grove. Each bedroom opened into the large guest lounge which has a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities The home is modern and the decor is attractive, modern and very clean and spacious. A delicious breakfast - cooked so well by Peter - in their beautiful home, with peace and quiet in the country, made our stay so special. Our little granddaughter was with us, and they made her so welcome too, with providing a high chair, toys. The rooms were warm and cosy, Daphne put extra blankets out for us, electric blankets on for us. All the little things that make this place special. Our needs were well and truely met. Such a wonderful restful garden retreat. All in all, a fabulous country B&B with exceptional hospitality

Room Tip: The Lavender Room is beautiful with lavender linen, overlooking lavender gardens - perfect.

A group of us stayed here for the Mystery Creek Fielday at which we had a site. Daphne and Peter went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. Each morning our vehicle was iced over, they provided us with warm water for the windscreen. Daphne filled our thermos with hot water, for our cuppas during the day. Our rooms were lovely and warm and clean towels each day.a lovely breakfast each morning They allowed us space at the end of each day realizing we would be tired.
My only regret was that we left in the dark and arrived back in the evening in the dark and i didnt get to see their lovely garden.
Would love to stay here again.

Thanks for your lovely comments, Sheryl. Peter and I are so glad that you all enjoyed your stay with us. Hopefully we will see you again sometime, when you can spend time wandering around the garden.

We stayed here 1 night in the Lavender room and could easily imagine staying here for longer. On arrival we were greeted by Peter and Daphne, the hosts, who warmly welcomed us and took us for drinks and snacks on their beautiful verandah at the back of their house. The verandah looked out over part of their garden and what a garden it is! It's more like a compact country park encompassing a formal hedged garden, an orchard, a trail of bridges and paths running down into a picturesque gully and of course, the olive grove. The walk through the gardens is splendid, with lots of lovely photo opportunities.
The room is large, attractive, modern and clean, with patio doors on to a wooden deck complete with wooden garden furniture and surrounded by lavender. The ensuite is well appointed. The room is accessed through a large guest lounge, which also has a fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities. The whole B&B is spacious, light and airy.
We chose to have dinner with Peter and Daphne and enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal, with a very tasty apple cake to finish. Peter and Daphne are great company and we would definitely recommend a dinner with them.
Daphne cooked up a tasty breakfast in the morning and we were sorry to leave. All in all, this is a great B&B and it is not far from Hamilton but is infinitely more attractive. Lovely for a relaxing stay and touring to Raglan and the surrounding countryside.

We ended up here after realizing that we weren't going to make it to the neighboring B and B on the night we had planned, but they suggested Uliveto. The hosts, Peter and Daphne, were very welcoming. The room was well appointed and comfortable, and Peter cooked a nice breakfast

The Uliveto is a 20 minute country drive from Hamilton. The experience began when we turned off the road onto Daphne and Peter's driveway. It is lined with olive trees. Their home sits towards the back of the acreage and is very peaceful and quiet. The stars at night were so bright and close.

Daphne and Peter were excellent hosts. The breakfasts of free range eggs cooked to order, toast, cereals, and tomatoes were delicious. Daphne prepared our first dinner, as we were too tired to go back out. A majority of the vegetables were from their large garden. Plus very good quality local wines!

The room was large, the bath looked brand new! We had afternoon tea on the patio attached to our room and were surrounded by fragrant lavender and rosemary. The view was of their gardens, a rosemary bordered formal herb garden, a grape trellis, various fruit trees. Peter has developed a small trail system in their gully which was fun to explore.

They did not have wireless, however, Daphne allowed me free use of their personal computer. The house was designed as a bed and breakfast and has a wonderful dining room with large windows on three sides looking over their gardens. The two rooms have their own sitting area, private from the rest of the house. It would be a great place for two couples to come and have the entire accommodation to themselves.
