“Fantastic accommodation, fantastic price, fantastic service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

We stayed her for 3 days while we were in Hamilton for a wedding. We stayed in a one bedroom unit which was more than large enough for the two of us. The place was tidy and the bathroom was so clean and immaculate. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of parking. Very easy to find and close to the centre, we will most definitely be staying here again and we would recommend this place to people who want an affordable and enjoyable stay. Cheers!

A very friendly place but a little dated (renovations are currently underway). Large sitting room , bedroom, kitchen and updated bathroom with large shower (room 1). Good breakfast , a short walk into the center of town, wifi and a nice deck area for the summer months.
Reasonable rates and friendly service.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you have trouble with steps.

Perhaps it was our mistake for selecting a studio for 2 mature adults.
The studio was advertised as equipped with a kitchenette, stove.

The studio was a small room which was enough to accommodate a twin bed not a double bed, and the small desk with a single chair was not aimed for two people stay.
The kitchenette had no hot plates as advertized but an eletric frying pot. The washroom next to the room was tiny with no heater. The place was visited by a large cockroach, and apparently this happends when it is wet and cold outside. The internet access was free from the motels dining place, but their beutiful & friendly cat named Elizabeth left her hair on the computer and the chairs around as she was used to snuggling up on them, and the chairs had cloth cover.

The nice thing was the owner's / manager's attitude , name Heather, who upon a request checked with Bookings.com and with a smile& without a penalty refunded us the prepaid additional day's stay so we could get out and move on with our trip.

To be fair we checked other rooms, and found the curtains old, a bit dingy, and insufficient to keep the outside lifgts from penetrating the room for a good noght stay. In fact I had to unscrew a light bulb in front of our "studio" room.

Even at the price NZ $ 85/night with breakfast ( basic food brought to the room night in advance ) we found the place disappinting and would not recommend the place to anyone.

It had planty of parking, but the street was difficult to find as it is not well marked at the roundaround.

Room Tip: Avoid the place if you seek and prefer a fresh, bugs free accommodation

This is just what you see in most pictures. The place is just so nice and historic as it seems. We only stopped over for a night on our drive through New Zealand. But that does not change the fact that this is a clean, simple and with good space.

Room Tip: If you have a car you can have it really close when you ask for a room with it´s own parking lot.

Since we were there in the off season, we were automatically upgraded to the next best room, which was huge and very nice for the money.
The location is very good, within walking distance from all the bars and restaurants, the rugby field, and the park. Highly recommend having a run around the lake.
The breakfast was also good, delivered directly to our room.
Overall a very pleasant budget stay.

Friendly welcome, handily situated, clean warm unit. Stayed in studio unit which was very comfortable- free plunger coffee as well as free internet. Could not fault it- and price was extremely reasonable. Will be back.

Room Tip: we chose on basis of cost- thought it was extremely good value for a studio room.

I was extremely happy staying at this motel. Not only was the owners Heather & John helpful & friendly but everything was easy to get to and the service was really good.I stayed here for 6 days during the Easter period and ordered breakfast which was wonderful and always on time!!The only downfall was the shortage of parking which due to its popularity made it hard to get a park if your away for a period of time..but all in all it was a great stay and I enjoyed it.The rooms were clean and the beds were so comfortable. As for being so close to town you could here the sounds of distant clubs within the CBD but wasn't enough to keep you up at night. So a job well done I will be looking forward to booking this motel when coming back to Hamilton!!

Room Tip: A great place to stay..everything is nice & central..breakfast is always on time and the Hosta a...
