“Lovely B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011

I stayed here for one night in October, I wish I'd stayed longer. This is a genuine treat. Incredibly good value and of a much higher standard than places I've stayed in in Auckland which price them selves much higher and claim to be boutique. They have nothing on this. The house is decorated to a very high standard with lovely antique furniture and the breakfast was pretty special too! Would thoroughly recommend it.

It was my first time in NZ ever and I couldn't have been more lucky in finding this wonderful place in Auckland. Great hosts, lovely rooms, outstanding breakfast, close to great bars, shops and restaurants - and not to forget only five minutes from Eden Park, where the RWC 2011 took place - Go All Blacks! Marlene & Tony had great tips on where to go and what to see - it simply was great fun! I'll definitely come back some day.

Room Tip: Go for the Cream Room, sunny, large comfy bed and there are heated tiles in the bathroom and a chand...

My husband and I were here last week at the last end of our NZ vacation. The place is situated in walking distance of Eden Park, which, since we had Rugby World Cup tickets to 2 matches, couldn't be more perfect. Location is near a train line (Kingsland) and a bus stop on Dominion Road, so getting to the city takes 10 minutes - or a 45-minute walk if you are so inclined.

The hosts, Anthony and Marlene McNulty, were WONDERFUL. They really made us feel at home (as well as their dog, Mr. Darcy). They gave us lots of good advice on getting around, and answered any questions we had, plus we got a lot of info on Auckland itself from their point of view, which was a big plus. Breakfasts in the morning were stellar - you really felt pampered, with a great spread of foods, even a breakfast quiche on Sunday morning! We skipped lunch a few times, as we were so full from breakfast!

And if that wasn't enough - our rooms were great (I say rooms as Hotels.com screwed up in communicating with us regarding our reservation - but Marlene got it sorted - so we were in one room 2 nights, and the room across the hall the other 2 nights - each just as beautiful as the other). Well, let's say beyond great - gorgeous furnishings, warm, cozy environment, great bath products, chocolates in the room, and beautifully decorated right down to the chandeliers in the room and bathroom! I even got some decorating inspiration/ideas from being in this place. Free internet too. Super lounge area for making and having coffee/tea/homemade cookies/hot chocolate. Marlene will even bring out some treats if you happen to be in the den area - a bunch of us staying there were going to the New Zealand/France match, and she had a nice spread out for us. Their back porch and yard was also lovely and relaxing - lovely plants and flowers everywhere. We didn't want to leave!

We would come back and stay here in a heartbeat the next time we go to Auckland - a top class B&B and great hosts! Would STRONGLY recommend staying here for anyone visiting Auckland. Style, class, superb hosts - what more can you ask for.

Room Tip: the rooms we have are lovely in the front of the B&B. You can't go wrong with either. Also b...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Marlene & Tony. I was so looked after. This bed & breakfast is a classy villa that has so much charm and warmth. You can easily feel like royalty at this home. So close to the stadium, restaurants and shops. I walked to my venue each day and back evenings and felt very safe as woman on her own. I dined and wined at the neighbourhood bar in Kingsland that is a fantastic work of art in its interior design. I hope to return with my husband sometime but if you are travelling to Auckland you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. The B&B is so close to central

We spent a night at this B&B at our arrival in Auckland. We really enjoyed to stay at this B&B. Nice room and great breakfast! And the hosts gave us some good advise how to spend our afternoon and evening in Auckland.
