We were on a 10 hr layover and decided to bus down to the waterfront to see the Ironman Triathalon and enjoy lunch at the Waterfront.
After enjoying $6 beers and $10 lunches in the Cook Islands, the $9 bottles and $20 hamburgers got us by surprise. Although the menu was extensive, we found the prices for food items very expensive. But we were game thinking it would be a gourmet, top of the line lunch.
Sadly it wasn't and although we did appreciate the mono-hull on display outside the restaurant/museum, and the food service and location were just okay, we didn't feel lunch was worth the $60 price tag.
Not sure I would recommend the $60 return airport express bus ticket to see this part of Auckland or patronize this restaurant :-(
