“Always a favourite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2014

Been here twice now once in 2011 and again just in december 2013 both times eating in the cave downstairs. The food is amazing, gets brought out very fast and full of flavour. The meat kebabs are especially nice and the kumara coated in almonds. Would go there again in a heartbeat! Well priced too

“Tasty treat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Nice place to stop by to enjoy a few nibbles and they take into account if you are in a rush to go off and see a show.

“Always reliable japanese food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

We went here late on Saturday for a "light" dinner and ordered their sushi & sashimi platter which was abundant and generous. There were 2 each of the 5 sushi options and 2-3 of the 10 sashimi options plus 2 fresh oysters. The platter was delicious and fresh. Also ordered seaweed salad, edamame and miso on the side plus a small sake. The service was attentive and value for money - we paid $35 each for 2 of us.
Have also eaten here before with friends and as I can remember then everything was also superb. Have also tried the cave downstairs and that has more of a vibe to it if you are after atmosphere as the one on street level is more relaxed and bright.

“Go to the cave - great food, if a little cramped”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

The sushi bar at street level is nice - good fun to watch them making everything. But the real action is in the 'cave', downstairs (separate door at street level). It's always really busy, but serves great yakitori. Good value too. Yum!

“good asian food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Nice cosy little restaurant. It was a bit cramped the night we went, but the quality of the food and the service of the teppanyaki chef made up for it.
