“Yum cha you can rely on!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

We went as a large group on a sunday afternoon so it took awhile to get a table. This place is always busy like this so they must be doing it right. And yes - it was great! Service was good, cheerful and polite - the manager guy is just a bundle of energy and his staff follow his lead. The choice of dishes was standard, but all well done and tasty, not too greasy. We recommend the egg tarts - theirs are some of the best in town. As always yum cha is a chance to try a varietyof dishes so go with a group and grab anything that looks interesting as it passes the table. And remember, if you can't eat it all, get some boxes and take it home for later. I fully recommend this restaurant and would go back anytime.

“Pretty average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

They offer pretty standard food quality and taste. No surprises. Their dim sum selection not as much other dim sum restaurant in Auckland. Saturday and especially Sunday is busy. Get a reservation to go there on those days.

“Always a nice place for Yum Cha”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

This is one of the best place to have Yum cha in Auckland. It is definitely very busy and it always pays to book ahead for a table. Otherwise, you might wait a while to get your seats and might get asked to share a table with other customers. It would probably be best to come at 1100 or 1330 as the time in between is usually frantic whereas the pace is slower at 1330.

Service - Friendly service and very efficient. This is despite how busy they are and most of the waiters/waitresses still give out good service. A lot friendlier than some other yum cha place around Auckland.

Food - Great tasting food and definitely worth the money. Authentic tasting food and reminds of yum cha back in Asia.

Value - Price is right and not too pricey. The portion of the food is quite generous as well so I would say its worth the money.

Atmosphere - If you like a quiet restaurant, this is probably not the place for you but if you want to have a feel of Asia, this is definitely a place to try. The place is clean and relaxing although you might wonder about that as the staff race past you. Dinner service is generally more relaxed compared to the bustle of lunch time yum cha.

Overall, one of the best place to try yum cha in Auckland. Remember though, book ahead!

“Yum Cha anyone?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

My friend took us for our first yum char experience on Saturday. I did a little research beforehand and the reviews I read were mixed. The one thing all reviews I came across which was absolutely spot on was how busy this restaurant is. Our booking was for 12pm (booking is definitely essential) but we were about 7mins late due to finding a park. There is a Tournament carpark that you can enter on Khyber Pass Road and there are also off street pay and display carparks as well. Our table was already given away due to our lateness so we waited for another to open up. The front foyer of the restaurant was packed full of people waiting for a table. Luckily for us we only waited a few minutes before we got a table, Manouvering through the place was difficult though with tables packed into any place they could fit, people walking in and out while trolleys of food were weaving through the limited space in between. The bigger tables are right down the back of the restaurant while the smaller ones are at the front. All the hassles though of trying to get in to the restaurant is worth it because the food is amazing. While the steamed prawn dumplings were hands down my favourite, I loved the variety of food that was available and how hot they were when we received them. My only major disappointment was that we didnt get our hands on any dessert food. Some trolley pushers will come around to each table and ask if you want what's on the trolley but some can miss you out so there may be times where you will need to be assertive. We also found it difficult to get drinks as well due to how busy the staff were but we did get some hot green tea which surprisingly for me went down really well with the food. I'll be taking my husband there this week so he can try it out but I would say it's a lot more fun to go in a big group and dont be afraid to take your kids there because its so noisy I dont think it would matter.
