“Less Italian than ever”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

We are an Italian couple, just arrived in Auckland... we decided to stop by while coming back from CBD to take a look and give this place a try.
There is nothing here which is Italian... nothing: the food, the menu (too many spelling mistakes, c'mon). The Pizzas are TOO expensive and definitely too small.

What made the difference and made us decide we'll never come back is the blonde girl actually "cooking" the pizzas. We're 36 years old F&B professionals and we never seen a less care FOH attitude: chewing her gum, quite rude, careless about everything. BTW if you put a pizza in an owen, you should twist it 2-3 times to achieve proper cooking, not toss it inside and leave it. Pizza should not be treated like frost food in a microwave.

PS: Better cut Pizza BEFORE putting it in the cardboard... or at least better not cut the cardboard too...

PS2: If you do takeaway... please provide plastic bags too ;-)

“Great food.. poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Went for my husbands birthday last Saturday night. The first thing I have to mention is that the service was awful. The blonde waitress who served us was very abrupt and had a couldn't care less attitude. She slammed drinks down on the table and barely spoke. We booked a table for four and we were the first to arrive. When our friends arrived 10 minutes later they were left waiting another ten minutes before the waitress took their drinks order. Not very impressed! She was very sullen throughout the night and not helpful at all. The food was delicious though, especially the beef lasagne. Pizza wasn't quite amazing as I had been expecting but still tasty. Very oily though.
Desert was a bit of a disaster.. we all asked for two affogatos and one vanilla gelato. The same waitress came out and told our friend who had ordered the vanilla gelato that they were out of vanilla and would hazelnut and macadamia do instead as it was 'practically the same'. She said ok, but the waitress never mentioned to us that we wouldn't be getting vanilla in our affogatos. We presumed they had enough for the affogatos. however, when they came out we obviously had gotten the hazelnut ice cream, too. I found this particularly shocking, they only asked one person at the table if hazelnut was ok as a replacement for vanilla, and not the other two of us. They are so lucky we didn't have any nut allergies they didn't know about!!! You can't just give someone hazelnut ice cream when they've asked for vanilla and hope it will be ok! So unprofessional. Didn't even bother saying anything as I knew it wouldn't be well received. I probably wouldn't go back.

“Bit of a let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

I went there a few days ago for a friends birthday meal. We had the $45.00 buffet. I assumed a buffet meant enough food to eat until you were full, how very wrong was I. There were 19 of us in total. Firstly, they only did enough antipasto for 10 people so two tables went without and were given thin garlic bread instead. This was followed by two/three pieces of pizza each and a handful of salad (which was taken away and back to the kitchen even when we still had loads left and was never returned for the pasta main). Then our table of 5 received one small dish of pasta to share between us, meaning we had about 3 mouthfuls each. This was followed by either an ice-cream or a glass of port. It was a complete rip-off and I begrudged paying $45.00 for what was only worth about $25.00. The food was nice but DO NOT buy the buffet it was a complete and utter rip off and I will be telling everyone about the huge dissapointment

“Great pizza, great people!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We got take-away pizza and took it back to our hotel room, but there is a restaurant part for sit down meals as well. We wanted a 1/2 and 1/2 and they were very accommodating - garlic bread was the best!
