Spent a night at Base as had an early morning flight. Stayed on the all-female Sanctuary floor, which was a cut above most hostels (fresh linen with comfy duvet and Aveda hair products). Hostel is in a good location, at the bottom of Queen St near the water. The travel centre were helpful as were the staff I had contact with. The only negative was the bar announcing specials over the PA every half hour (the PA seems to be piped into all rooms, which isn't good for people wanting an early night). This stopped at about 9:30pm, though (but it was very annoying!!!!!!). Otherwise, a great hostel with modern facilities and a good atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.
