Good value. Something I have always wanted to do.
Im from Taupo thats why I just had to explore what Auckland has to offer. It was not a long trip but great views of Auckland and Rangitoto island as we passed.

“Along with Auckland's Harbour.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

it's a boaties paradise, even if you're not a boatie. Dotted with islands (some well worth visits in their own right, including the fabulous Waiheke) and surrounding NZ's largest city... whether it's by private charter or simply on a commuter ferry, it's a must do for visitors. I know few areas in the world that are quite such as stunning and safe waters, so close to any country's biggest city.

“Wiaheke Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This is a must to visit; just 40 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland the weather is noticeably better than Auckland is almost sub-tropical. It has wineries, lovely beaches and a relaxed atmosphere with lots of local artists' work for viewing and purchase. Wherever you are you can see the sea.

“Clean and beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Auckland has the largest boating population per capita and the harbour is magic on a good day with the majestic dormant volcano - Rangitoto as the centre piece. You can crew ex-America's Cup boats, go on fishing charters, cruise to neighboring islands for the day or pick a sandy beach and sun bathe.
Went on a fishing charter for the day but nobody told me the snapper were having the weekend off! Enjoyed sailing around the inner harbour and under the bridge instead.
