For us Germans it is very nice to travel to an English-speaking country and be received by German speakers (because this is something you have to get used to in New Zealand!! Some kiwis asked us if there were any Germans left in Germany since they all seem to be working or travelling in New Zealand).
The area of Mt Eden is well outside town, but this is no minus. It is very quiet and you can walk around the area trying to overcome jetlag. We didn't have a car, which was no problem, because the buses leave just 5 minutes from the b&b and get you into the city centre in 20 minutes (and you don't need to worry about parking!!)
The rooms are very nice and bright, breakfast is excellent (with cheese! you don't get this often in NZ), the hosts and employees are very friendly and helpful.
