I stayed on the 13th Floor for 5 days in this superb hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious, cleaned in a timely manner, and the bathroom shower was superb. The restaurant and bar was excellent and their host, Norbet, the consummate professional greeter, seater, and problem solver! As Americans, we especially enjoyed the superb buffet and spectacular French pressed coffee. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Auckland area. It has spectacular views and the hotel is well maintained by its professional staff. I am looking forward to staying there again. The New Zealand people are truly some of the most friendly people on the planet ... and I should know, having traveled most of the globe for business.

A very exotic hotel. Quite surrounding with scenic views of the harbour and the city. Services excellent

My roommate and I were in Auckland for a music convention. Room was ok, but surfaces were permanently marked and stained. NOTHING in the room was switched on so we had to search inside cupboards and walls to make anything work. TV had no picture - we were told it was a Sky TV problem so they couldn't do anything. Hairdryer didn't work - eventually found the socket inside a cupboard under the sink. But to turn it on you had to push a button on a different socket on the wall... Reception staff were unhelpful and sullen. CD player didn't work - they said they'd replace it but in three days they never did. Ordered newspaper was forgotten. My roommate became very ill (eventually admitted to hospital for urgent surgery). The hotel eventually "delivered" a message about 9pm but left it upside down amongst other papers on the table. Staff, other than the housekeeping staff, were uniformly cold and unhelpful. Another message had an important phone number missing a digit. For 41/2 stars this place SUCKED! And the final insult was finding the quoted rate didn't include GST taxes, which aren't listed anywhere. Then they wanted to charge $18.50 for 10 minutes on the internet. I paid $2 at the neighbouring hotel instead.

We spent 2 nights in Auckland and this hotel came highly recommended on tripadvisor and the comments were all true. This is a 20 floor hotel with fully serviced apartments/hotel rooms. Each room has a living room/sitting area with a nice couch and TV, a small kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, and refrigerator, and a small working area as well. BR is relatively small with bathroom. We had great views of the auckland area from outside the windows from our floor. Also, this being in takapuna put you in proximity to some great restaurants, cares, and devonport.

This hotel is not for those without car hire (rental). Parking is located below the hotel, charge of 10NZ/day. Internet is not included, there were some free wi-fi signals you could get at the higher levels of the hotel but the connection was spotty. Overall, the staff were friendly though we really didn't ask them much. There was a fitness center and swimming pool which we didn't get much chance to use as we were busy exploring auckland.

The hotel is located about 15-20 min from auckland CBD, close to the northern areas of the suburbs if you are to explore. It was a convenient place for those who want to be away from the CBD city. we noticed that most things close at 5pm (stores) even in the CBD so you're not missing out on the shopping experience. Down the street from the hotel there is a supermarket for self-caterers, and plenty of restaurants and cafes. if you're there on the wkend, hit up the farmer's market on sundays very nice and interesting.
