Friendly staff. A most enjoyable stay. Would certainly recommend to others.

My husband and I stayed at the Langham in February for a night after a flight from the UK. The Limo transfer was very reasonable and it was great to have someone meet us at the airport. On arrival (at about10am) we were checked straight in to an upgraded room. There were plenty of lovely toiletries, the room was clean and the bed was very soft.

We used the pool and Spa facilities on both days and found the staff to be polite and very friendly. The resteraunts and bars looked good - but we didn't try them - prefering the cafes nearby for breakfast in the morning.

We used the transfer service to to down to the port and the system worked well with the bus showing up at the right time and the driving giving advice about the city to anyone who asked.

We probably couldn't afford the rack rate - but we paid about NZ$150 for the Saturday night with the Limo costing an additional $90. Well worth it for the luxury provided.

stayed for one week as part of our 25th wedding anniversary global trip. The hotel ,service, staff and food are of a very high standard and excellent value for money.A free shuttle bus is run every half hour to the city centre and operates till about 21.45.The staff were so helpful when we left our coats and forwarded them onto Australia for us.The Langham is definately 4 star + and the service is second to none.

We stayed two nights following arrival from Los Angeles. No problem checking in early which was great after an all night flight. Room and bathroom were superbly fitted out and all very comfortable. Only real problem was that the extractor in the bathroom appeared not to work, or it was inadequate. We did get a reasonable rate through booking early on the internet and paying in advance on a non-refundable basis. The room we had was a Club King which was on an executive floor and we could use the exec club for breakfast and drinks and canapes before dinner - everything here was excellent. In fact it was open all day with some kind of food and beverage. Also there was free internet in the exec club.
No wireless internet in the room but instead an ethernet cable. I had to pay for the internet which to me is penny pinching by the hotel, particularly when I couldn't connect using the cable. The help line (an outside company) sorted this out on the phone - in fact they told me to try reversing the cable which worked. I mentioned this to the hotel when checking out and they cancelled the charge which left a good taste in the mouth. The shuttle bus to the CBD went every half hour and was very useful. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel, but there was an excellent little Italian restaurant across the street that had a fair sprinking of Langham guests.
Staying at the Langham really was great and for the quality of the establishment was very good value too.

The Langham has seen better days - it's now a little shabby around the edges. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed, but the funishings were old and somewhat worn out, especially the curtains and the desk . Despite the 1960s exterior the interior decor is all heavy drapes, black marble and thick carpet, making the rooms feel dusty and claustrophobic. We were also a little disappointed with the overcrowded, tiny swimming pool. Not sure this hotel merits its star rating anymore. I'd opt for one of Auckland's more modern, contemporary hotels in the future.

This was an enjoyable and comfortable stay, I would recommend it.

The hotel is not very old at all, but comes across as being older than it is. Saying that, there is plenty of space in each room and it is quite comfortable.

It is a bigger distance to get to the viaduct and the centre of town, but it is still not that far.

The foyer is quite nice, and the service was good as well.

My only gripe would be the confusing parking nearby which was very awkward. But apart from that, it was a great stay.

stayed at the Langham in Feb for 5 nights. we booked the executive floor which included
breakfast , evening cocktails and nibbles. In other hotels we have stayed in, at executve level ,you had the choice of the lounge or the main breakfast room downstairs which gave you much more variety, but having said that the breakfast in the executive lounge was more than adequate offering hot choices. The service in the executive lounge was
very average apart from "Ramondo" who was very good at his job. It was also uncomfortably cold so ladies take a cardi with you ! they also have an odd way of doing
things, they serve drinks and nibbles from 5.30 pm-8.30 pm then from 8.15 pm-9.0 pm
you can go back in for coffee and desert . We went back one evening at 8.30 pm to find
one of the cleaners hoovering !! not very welcoming or professional, and quite a few of the lights were turned off so the whole "experience" makes you feel that you shouldnt be there !! However apart from that the rooms were very nice and they have a lovely pool area. the location of the hotel is not down town but the shuttle bus they provide is good. the front reception programmed our room key wrong twice !! very annoying . So all in all it was good but not great . I forgot to mention one evening having drinks in the executive lounge they just shut up shop 10 mins before 7.30 pm. without saying anything to anybody and of course a complaint was made and the reason given was that they were very busy earlier on and they had to clear, up now that really was not good enough. It is a shame because the Langham is a very comfortable hotel and the ambience is classy but it seems to be lacking something and a few areas need to be improved to make you feel you are staying in a 5* environment.
