Stayed in this fine property (a Park Suites) with my girlfriend over the Easter Weekend during our touring of New Zealand North Island. I have long wanted to visit the Langham Auckland because its beautiful lobby and decors. The Langham Auckland is a very classy hotel with no disappointments at all. We stayed in room 379, a lower level Park Suites by using Suites Upgrade voucher from Club 1865. The Park Suite was spacious, made up of 2 normal room size. It has a standard size bathroom with beautiful marbles and Molten Brown Toiletries. Fruit and Water was served complimentary of the hotel. There are 2 Large 42" Sony Bravia TV in the lounge and bedroom. Air Conditioning unit works perfectly responsive. The bed was very comfortable, with 6 large fluffy pillows. It is a little too soft but neverthelss had a great sleep. I cannot simply find any fault of the room.
About the club lounge: It open from 7am until late evening, however I was told to check in at lobby and later I found out the lounge has no check in reception but 2 bulter/waiter serving food/drinks to all club guests. There were a good selection of canapes in the evening (E.g. Sushi, Smoke Salmon, Cold cuts, cheese) and 2 hot dishes (Prawn Spring Roll and Quiche was the days of choice). There were also free NZ ice creams and yogurts available all day. Between 815pm to 915pm there was also a dessert buffet, with a cheesecake, chocolate coated strawberry and some moose cake. You can bascially filled up without going for dinner there ! Club guest also entitles to the usual compliments such as free internet, business center, and 3 pieces of pressing FOC.
The Langham Auckland staff were very polite and responsive, they have forgot our arrival gift but after a phone call, the housekeeping staff brought it up within 3 minutes. The valet parking cost NZD $30 per day, quite reasonable. There is also a shuttle bus to downtown every 30 mins. We have no problem using the valet and dirve ourselves , it is about 5-10 minutes down to Auckland waterfront by car.
The Langham Auckland Hotel carries out the great Langham Tradition well, with its beautiful setting in the lobby and the bar. It makes a great place to social and to take photos. It is a smply stunning property. If you notice, it has a very pleasant scent in the lobby, the same as Langham Place HK use. I believe this is the best overall hotel in Auckland.
