“Good end to a fantastic holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

After touring in a camper van for 2 weeks any hotel would have been luxury - but this was the icing on the cake! We upgraded to a club room on arrival which meant a superior room, breakfast, afternoon snacks and drinks/canapes from 5-8 - well worth it! The bed was heaven and all the facilities we of a very high standard. Didn't rate the spa or treatments - very expensive and not the best by any means but the pool was good. The 8 restaurant was excellent!

If you are lookking for a great sleep then Langham Hotel in Auckland is a great choice. I stayed one night waiting for an international flight and the comfortable king size bed with block out blinds contributing to a 12 hour sleep. The rooms are spacious, but the cable network wasnt as good as the HD that I am use to back at home. Very nice swimming pool with a great gym. I did go down stairs for break fast and thought $80 was a bit steep for two. There are other options but we went the buffet and later discovered a cafe within a 100 metres that we could have had a similar breakfast for $20 for two, oh well we are on holidays. The Langham is about a 15 min walk to the water. It could use free wi fi as the business centre was always full.

We enjoyed our stay at the Langham. Although it is just outside the Central Business District they provide an excellent shuttle service that travels there about every 1/2 hour. We bought a package that included breakfast and in-room wifi, but they provide a free internet access area and a printer on many floors. Our only beefs were the prices of local calls ($4.50 each!) and the restaurant dinner policy which is an all you can eat upscale buffet for $90.00 per person. They do offer a small alternative menu. The buffet may be fine for a 1 night stay but not when you are there for several days. The alternative Italian restaurant "Barolo" has been closed but there are many outside choices available.

As a solo traveller this hotel was recommended to me by locals and Aussies. It lived up to its reputation of elegance and service. I upgraded to a club room which entitled me to the club lounge. I spent most f my time there- breakfast afternoon tea and drinks and canapés- enough to call it dinner! Solo travelling does mean you pay for two- and perhaps club room extra could be modified as one person can never eat and drink for two. My purpose was relax and participate in some day tours- and for that it was perfect. Spa treatment was world class.

Unfortunately we could only stay in Auckland for 1 night but we were glad we chose The Langham Auckland. This is a classy beautifully appointed period hotel very centrally located near the CBD. The staff were all very friendly, the room was immaculate and the service could not be faulted. I recommend using the hotel shuttle to venture into the waterfront area as there is a vast array of good restaurants to choose from. The most disappointing thing I could say was the lack of Wifi access which still amazes me in this world we now live. Yes this place does have a business lounge but its not the same. We didn't eat at the Langham so I cannot comment on the food but overall this was a very nice hotel to stay especially for the price.

Go to Sofitel or Hilton, on Viaduct Harbour.
This Hotel has very goods rooms with excellent linens and amenities. It's charming with the pink and gold color scheme. Maybe if you go work, this location will suit you, but for the avarage tourist it's poorly located.
Of course, when it was built, maybe this was a good location. So, what can a Hotel like this do for me to compensate this problem? Nothing: Beakfast costs 39.00, you must pay internet everywhere, a local (3 minutes) phone call 5,00.
At least they have a great staff! Concierge (Adriano) and all the doormen and a nice, friendly and charming lady who drove us to the airport.

Thank you for your feedback, and we are pleased you appreciated your room and our friendly staff. Should you stay again, we do provide three hours of free wifi in our restaurants, bars and public areas for all inhouse guests (just approach a staff member to organise this). We also have a free shuttle service that links the hotel and waterfront area, as well as a Link bus stop adjacent to the hotel, which visits the Auckland Museum, Parnell village and other city attractions.
Kind regards,
Darren Thurlow, Hotel Manager

I have been staying at The Langham on a regular basis for business for some years now. My firm has recently relocated within Auckland so alas, I won't be staying here on business trips any more.

I realy do owe this hotel a good review though, in all in time I have been staying here the service has been consistently great, friendly and personal, and the hotel itself has a bit of "wow" factor about it that always impresses me, and as someone who stays in hotels a lot, I don't get that impressed easily.

I will continue to stay here when I come up to Auckland for personal reasons and want somewhere that feels a bit special, as opposed to just "nice".
