“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We initially went here to see the buses (!), however, there is far more to this place. It is like a little village with different old transport, houses, church, schoolhouse etc and special exhibitions including one about New Zealand in the war

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

We started up the top by the zoo at the aviation section, MOTAT 2. It was very interesting and we spend a couple of hours there before catching the tram car down to MOTAT 1. I found I did not enjoy it as much as the aviation part, but maybe it was because I had done it years ago or maybe it made me realize how much older I was now as I had once used some of the things on display :-)

“Dated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

Quite old looking. Not very interactive. A lot of the exhibits closed or not working. The aviation section was well worth a visit very interesting and very impressive building.

It's just not that interesting unless your kids are small or you are crazy about transport (cars, planes etc)

“Brings back memories”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

It brought back alot of memories during my visit a MOTAT recently! Just seeing what it was like when I was a youngster! From steam powered pumps; steam engines; the old school house; telecommunications as they were; static displays of cars, bikes, and even the corner grocer! Just to name a few. You even get to see a old printing press in action! Too much for me to write about, you will have to take the family along, and see it for your-selves! There is food and drinks available, and entertainment for the kids. Memories for the adults, and some-thing for the younger generation to view, and quiz you about!
