“Too Many Hiccups”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Was looking forward to a couple nights of luxury but too many hiccups will see us not returning. On arrival just after 2pm our room was still not ready so had to wait at lobby bar. Were given complimentary drink vouchers but would have preferred to get straight to our room. Later that evening went to make a cup of tea in room but no milk was left by housekeeping so had to call for it. We had no robes left in the room and the room was not serviced for the duration of our stay. At $304 per night I would have thought that would be standard. Had nice time pool side so decided to order sandwiches for a snack. After waiting an hour we asked about order and waitress said chef had forgotten. Were given a complimentary drink each again and sandwiches arrived 20 minutes later. For dinner that night ordered room service. My wife is dairy free and she ordered a burger with no cheese, said this twice on the phone when ordered. Burgers arrived and there was cheese on both. I had to eat my dinner while they remade my wife's. Although no charge just another hiccup and pretty serious when a customer has allergies. Then as I was leaving and settling the bill with front desk staff the concierge leans over and asks if we have paid for parking. This was all part of the package so unsure what he thought he was doing.
I took the time when checking out to fill out a customer service form and expected a call from the hotel as they ask on the form for contact details. Has been a week and have heard nothing. So I have now reviewed them here. Disappointing service from this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for harbour view

we always stay at the Heritage as the staff are awesome, the facilities are great and the rooms are very clean. Its central city location is very close to good dining and the buffet breakfast at the Heritage is a favourite with the kids.

They also have regular deals and offers

Room Tip: ask at the time of booking for any specific requirements you might have. They are very accomodating...

A lovely hotel with reasonable rates. We love the pool on the roof! The rooms are always clean and spacious. The restaurant is of a high standard with a wonderful breakfast on offer. We have stayed here many times and will continue to do so!

A surprisingly old and average room given the price, with the typically average facilities like the Ironing board that wouldn't close and had no padding, an Iron that left black stuff in my shirt, very poor quality coffee and an AC that didn't cool the room.
On the plus side, the bed was super comfortable and the shower hot.
I wouldn't stay again though.

This is a great place to stay if visiting Auckland City. A short walk to Queen Street, or the lovely waterfront area. It has got a rooftop bar and pool, with lovely views of the city.

If you have breakfast included, it is just lovely!

Room Tip: As for a room away from the busy road at the front of the Hotel.

We stayed at The Heritage with The Stay Playful package on Saturday and Sunday night, as it was Auckland Anniversary weekend. We had a wonderful time and our accomodation, being an Executive Suite in the Tower was fantastic. The view looking looking across to the Harbour bridge and down to the viaduct was interesting and exciting with so many boats on the harbour. Our room had a balcony which I had requested as I like the fresh airflow and being able to sit outside. My husband and I have stayed here before and this time we took our daughter who loved the outside pool and the indoor heated one too.The breakfast is simply delicious-I am a big fan of the raw food section with yummy coconut yoghurt and fresh fruit. The eggs benedict were lovely too.We have stayed at a variety of hotels both in New Zealand and overseas and would definately recommend The Heritage for great rooms, delicious breakfasts, friendly staff and close walking distance to downtown Auckland and the Viaduct.

Room Tip: The Executive Suites on the Tower side with a balcony and opening windows provide a great view of th...

I've stayed at the Heritage many times for business trips and have always found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, quiet and functional. The staff are polite and efficient. This is not a luxurious hotel but for the price, I believe it gives good value for money. Some rooms have better views than others. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of food and room service dinners are of a high standard.
