This is a real find. Great location - on the airport bus route. The apartments are well presented with a very comfortable bed and roomy bathroom. Room service from the cafe was excellent with reasonable prices. Staff were all friendly and helpful

The location of the hotel was ideal as it was directly opposite the Q theatre where we were going to see a show. Thats where the good ends. The room itself was teeny but that in itself is not a deal breaker. The largest window had a giant crack running through it. The windows barely managed to shut properly, and the street noise made for a very loud night! The wide screen tv was not set on the right aspect ratio and was not able to be adjusted, making it difficult to watch anything. The shower was so small that I doubt even a hobbit could have a comfortable shower in. The shower rose was leaking. The bed was lumpy and seemed passed its use by date. The whole thing was just plain shabby! Very disappointing.

I stayed by myself for three nights in a superior room. I chose the hotel because of previous stays at other Scenic Hotels as well as the location to the venue where I was attending a course at AUT. It was only 5 minutes walk away. I arrived very early on the first morning and was able to have my luggage stored at the hotel for the day before I checked in that afternoon so I didn't have to take my luggage to the course which was extremely helpful. Also, the same applied on the last day which I was very grateful for their help. I was very happy with the comfortable décor and the quietness of my room. The bed was blissful! The friendliness of the staff was also noticeable. I have one recommendation: The environmental sign in the bathroom about reusing towels to save the overuse of washing didn't appear to be noticed by the cleaning staff. Even though I had put my used linen on the towel rail, each day it was taken away and new linen replaced it which I thought was a bit strange. I bought my own breakfast supplies and found that the kitchen appliances were adequate. I would certainly be happy to recommend the hotel to others. Thank you.

Room Tip: My room on the 5th floor was facing out onto a no exit side street which was very quiet. The curtai...

Scenic Hotel is ideally situated on Queen Street - before the street starts to get steep- with a Auckland airport bus stop right outside. Close to Civic and Aotea Centre. I have stayed several times now- always very clean and tidy- staff friendly and welcoming.
I have always had a back facing room and have never been bothered by street noise. MLC cafe on site is handy and offers tasty fare.

The foyer and corridors of this hotel are not elaborate or fancy. So by first impressions I was not "wowed". However once inside the room it was modern and comfortable, with simple but functional furnishings. The bed was soooooo super cosy. I slept very well. Thankfully I was on a high floor so didn't really hear much street noise. I asked for a later check out time (extended 1 hour later) and even though the hotel was fully booked out that following day - they kindly accommodated my request. The valet parking for $20 a night is the cheapest valet parking I know of in Auckland CBD. This hotel is located right on Queen Street, amongst all tourist landmarks and attractions. Water front (Viaduct), Sky tower, Aotea Square, Town Hall, University etc etc all a short 5 min stroll away and surrounded by eateries, convenience stores, takeaways, cafes and shops. You can easily access everything you need to do in Auckland city from here.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on a high level to get up above street noise

Stayed in the hotel with my sister for 3 nights. Teresa and Tony at reception made us feel special welcoming us with a genuine smile. Breakfast was included with the deal and was of a good value. Bed was very comfortable and the room was quite spacious comparing to what we expected. Even though hotel is situated on a main street of Auckland we surprisingly didn't hear anything at night from the streets. Overall great stay and my sister who traveled from overseas enjoyed it very much as well. Thank you!

First of all the valet parking was only between hours of 6am and 11pm not stated on wot if and did not suit our situation.
The room was clean and tidy, however the bed was terrible with a crazy 3 inch topper pad thing on it. The street noise was terrible even on the 7th floor. Defiantly not heaven on the 7th floor. The shower was made for 'little people" tap was too big for hand basin. Shelf above basin was good for not much more than a bang on the head. Defiantly better value around!!!!!! Won't be back sorry. Also don't take guest comments very seriously, tried to fill card out in room it was still the one from previous customer they hadn't replaced or collected.

Thank you for taking the trouble to make some comments about your recent stay.
We still charge just $20 for valet parking and it is available from 7am to 11pm.
Our feather bed topper generally recieves overwhelming positive comments, some do ask for it to be removed and we have no problem doing that if it's not your thing.
Our heritage building is triangular in shape which makes for some interesting shaped rooms.
In a couple of room types bathroom space and shelf space is limited however we can generally find an alternative room. I am sorry you were disturbed by noise it's a bigger problem in summer particularlry on Queen Street when more people are around.
Thank you sincerely for your feedback we consider and take all comments seriously
Kind regards Ken
