Short distance to all attractions either walking, by link bus or cab ride. Internally, its your standard Crowne Plaza experience.

This is our second stay, the first being three years ago. Both times we stayed on the club floor. Since our previous visit these rooms have been renovated, which is good as they were perhaps starting to look a little dated. More attention has been given to the rooms than to the bathrooms; whilst not actually dated, it was not new either, and was functional rather than exciting. The views are excellent from the club floor; we actually got to see two views, as we were moved from our original room to one across the corridor due to the airconditioning not working. From one side of the hotel you can see the Sky Tower (it's very close, you have to stand at the window and look up), but there is also another hotel directly across the street and you look into each other's windows. The other side (which we preferred) looks onto a more expansive view of the city, across Albert Park, to the Auckland museum and to glimpses of the shore. The rooms themselves are excellent, they are a reasonable size, well-equipped and very clean, and the beds are very comfortable. We heard no noise from either outside or from other guests.
The club lounge has improved since our last visit, in terms of the range of food available. However, it is still nowhere near as good as the one in the Christchurch Crowne Plaza in terms of both choice and quality of food/drink, and atmosphere. The breakfast is acceptable but the tea/coffee comes from a general hot drinks machine, and so is not very good. The staff would also do better to spend their time replenishing things that have run out, than to create an uncomfortable atmosphere by just standing and watching everything you do. I also preferred the Christchurch system of being allowed to help yourself to drinks in the evening, rather than being policed by a member of staff who stands by the lockable fridge and pours the drinks for you. These are minor complaints, and did not detract from our stay, but having experienced better we could see that there was room for improvement.
In summary we would recommend this hotel for its rooms and views, and would stay here again.

We booked two separate nights in the Crowne Plaza - one at the start of our seven day tour of the island, and one at the end. Our first room was upgraded to an executive room - very spacious with views looking down towards Auckland harbour. Complimentary breakfast and drinks available. We didn't have this luxury during our second stay but we were not unpressed. The hotel is in a perfect location, close to many bars, restaurants, tourist shops and of course the Skytower. My only criticism is that you have to use your room card for the lift... which we had fun with to say the least! Very frustrating, but understand that they do this for security.

Overall I would recommend the hotel, especially as it is linked to a plaza with an abundance of shops, restaurants, more shops and food stores.

We loved our trip to New Zealand and would love to go back there again very soon.

We stayed here in a two queen size bed room on the 25th floor with our two kids. Very clean and comfortable beds. Great location as it on top of the Atrium shopping centre which was once the place to shop, now filled with asian owned stalls of clothing and gifts mainly. On the bottom floor is a food court and you can get great dim sum food to takeway. The food court closes at 6 pm.

All in all very good, I got a rate of $190 per night including 2 cooked breakfasts which are normally $31.50 pp. Very central location, Auckland doesn't really have a nice cosy centre so you may find a place that looks good but is off the beaten track a bit. The upmarket department store Smith and Caughey, is 2 minutes away down through the
shopping mall and in through the back entrance.

I liked the fact that the windows could be opened in the room and you are not in a sealed, air conditioned room. However unlike a previous reviewer we could not get any free internet access by walking around the room looking for a free connection. All of them required passwords. The rate at the hotel isn't too bad, $5 per hour or $33 per day but across the road there is a convenience store that has internet available for $1 for 20 minutes of $2 per hour.

Food at the buffet was pretty good compared to some of the offerings I've seen for similar rates in overseas hotels and it goes until 10.30am.

That's all.I would stay there again if I didn't have to share a room with the kids!

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of March. Good location - standard business hotel. We needed to orient ourselves, pick up the hire car etc.

Staff were efficient and helpful. We arrived late in the evening and the bar staff rustled up excellent club sandwiches for us. Indeed because the weather was so bad we ate in the hotel restaurant the following evening - which we would not normally do. The food was excellent and the service attentive. - Full marks.

Another feature of the hotel we found good was the guest laundry. Having spent ten days on the road in Hong Kong and Australia we found this very useful and at $2 a load good value.

All in all a good please to stop and regroup if you need to orient yourself before heading down to the South Island
