“wonderful crepes at reasonable prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Torchon is a great little place with a modest decor and laid back atmosphere that offers a variety of tasty and filling crepes. The staff are very kind, happy and welcoming people and the food seems always fresh. All the crepes are interesting, although I found the mushroom one and the complete with avocado particularly nice. I've been to Torchon a few times now and it has always been a good experience with perhaps only one time when I was slightly disappointed by the fact that the avocado in my crepe was rock-hard.

“Terrific Crepes in the Elliot Stables”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Elliot Stables is now a great little arcade of restauants with culinary styls to suit all tastes. We were able to grab one of the communal tables just outside Torchon and order a couple of savoury crepes with wine. A real lunch time treat in what is just a nice place to be and the crepes were as good as anything we've had in France & Europe. We found this gem quite by accident and the only disappointment was that we didn't have time to re-visit it. It will be hgh on our to-do list if we ever get back to Auckland.

“Modest facility but tasty meals with French flair.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

Very unassuming appearance from the street but the funky, zero decor of the interior was made up for by the nicely prepared/presented entrees on light-as-a-feather-paper-thin-buckwheat-crepes. We went there on the recommendations of our hotel and ended up eating there twice on an overnight stay. It's on a quiet, pedestrian-only street in the heart of town. You might want to make resies on a weekend?

“Incredible experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

My partner and I had dinner here one night as it was just around the corner from our hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the atmosphere was gorgeous! We shared a bottle of french sweet cider and ate plenty of bread, dips, ratatouille, snails, mushrooms and bourgougin. It was one of the highlights of our trip eating here! It was fairly affordable too!

“Nice, welcoming, satisfying”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

A really nice place in the middle of Auckland!
I enjoyed a couple of times a crepe as a breakfast: I have to say they are exactly what you expect by a proper french crepe (I tried heaps around France, so I can say that).
Really good the coffee as well, and the 100% french management make the place even more enjoyable.
