Auckland was our final port of call on yet another whirlwind trip of the North Island, but decided this time to stay put in Auckland for a few days this time. All I can say is that this really is a first class hotel, absolutely no doubt about it. The staff are wonderful, nothing is ever a problem, even with a couple of tricky little things that we needed to have done during our stay all carried out with a total lack of fuss. Wonderful! We would strongly recommend to include the full breakfast with your booking, it is an absolute delight, but the restaurant at night was something else..... I have used this term before to describe the same thing from hotels like this, it was "high class weird". Probably appeals to some people, but I found the menu strange and very confusing, so we didn't dine there. But don't let that put you off, you should check it out for yourself!

Just one thing to all the staff there, please cut out the fake French guys! I just don't get it.

This is our second stay there in 12 months, and we can strongly say that this place is a true pleasure to stay in!

From a quick check-in to excellent follow-through from the concierge during our stay, we were very pleased with this hotel. Our room was spacious, quiet, and well-appointed. Furthermore, the hotel itself is beautiful and is in a prime location right by the water. Also, thanks to the kitchen for going above and beyond to put together delicious sandwiches for our bus ride to Rotorua, much to the envy of fellow passengers. Definitely recommended.

I travelled up to Auckland with my 2 daughters for the weekend and we booked the Sofitel on line quite a few months before. I had requested an extra bed in the room, and I was advised that this would be on request. When we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely lady and then made our way up to our room. The bed was all made up and it definitely was not a roll away it was an actual single bed which was superb. On return to our room later that evening we were impressed by the complimentary bottles of water on each side of the king bed, the chocolates, slippers and also that there was very quiet music playing in the background from the radio/sound system in the room. The bed was extremely comfortable, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in while staying in a hotel. Everybody I spoke to was extremely polite and accomodating, it was such a pleasure to stay there.
