This tour was absolutely amazing! This is a very sacred place for the native Maori people as the place where the spritis leave Aotearoa (New Zealand) after passing away. I went alone on the tour and Barry was the bus driver. He was really funny and made sure everyone was comfortable the entire time. We visited Cape Reigna and the weather was wonderful after a week of rain. Then we were off to the sand dunes! They are really fun and very easy to use. I was a bit nervous before I went but an elderly woman even made the trek up the dune and slid down on my tour. She loved it proves that anyone can do it! As we made our way back to Paihia, we drove down 90 mile beach in the bus and even stopped for some photoes. You are allowed to make your way to the front of the bus and sit near the driver for photos and videos of the beach. On the way back you stop for dinner in Mangonui at a famous fish and chip shop with excellent food. You will learn a lot about New Zealand culture on this tour from the indiginous bush (you even get to hug a Kauri tree for good luck), and Maori culture. My driver spoke fluent Maori and even sang traditional songs of greeting and farewell. This was the highlight of my trip in New Zealand.
