“Great Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

The Richardson is a nice, modern hotel with a high quality gym and indoor pool, a nice cafe for breakfast and an up market restaurant with an interesting menu and good wine list.

The rooms are spacious and well equipped. We stayed in a deluxe room with an en suite bathroom, separate lounge and kitchenette and chairs out on the balcony - lots of room for a couple. The bathroom was compact, with the shower in the bath rather than separate, but that was a minor point an didn't detract from our stay.

As many others have said, the thing that sets this hotel apart is the service - all of the staff were wonderful and attentive. They offer helpful advice and suggestions, are always happy to assist and make you feel like you're a regular who they've known for ages, despite it being your first night there. We stayed for 3 nights and would definitely recommend it as an alternative to the larger hotels.

While the hotel is more than walking distance from the city centre, this isn't a problem as there is a regular, free bus service running around the centre of the city which stops around the corner from the hotel.

Arrived at the Richardson hotel after a long flight from the the UK, I stay in lots of Hotels in the UK
Not one of them comes any near these high standards, the room was beautiful , quiet and clean,
The staff were friendly and helpful , and a special mention to Andrew the General Manager who did everything possible ( including booking restaurants, and even booked our next hotel in Melbourne !! ) nobody could stay here and not enjoy!!!

Room Tip: We travelled with friends, and both rooms were great ( 203/204)

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary and I have to say that although the hotel is lovely I do not think it was worth the price. The a la carte breakfast was delicious. The Opus restaurant try's hard but the food missed the mark by miles although the husbands venison Wellington was amazing! The location was awesome. Think this is the place to stay if you really need privacy....we just needed to escape the kids.

Thank you to the previous reviewers of this hotel. Those that said it was exceptional with a strong focus on customer service were right. The quality of the staff and the rooms made this a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I loved everything, especially the breakfast we enjoyed in the cafe; a wonderful end to a perfect short break. Thank you

I've been visiting Perth on business for several years and this was my first stay in The Richardson - it will not be my last. I spent 12 days and loved every day. The staff were so efficient and friendly. When the hotel manager approached me in the lobby and called me by name, I almost fell over from shock! Every one, at every level, treats you like a very welcome guest. The location for the CBD is excellent - just a few blocks away from the Red Cat with free and frequent trips. On my last night, I hosted a dinner for 8 colleagues and spouses in Opus - people are still talking about that dinner. It was a culinary event - inventive food, fantastic service. I look forward to many happy returns.

We did have high expectations and they were met.
For this trip I fancied the amenities of an apartment with the service of a hotel and it delivered brilliantly.
I won’t repeat what has been said better by many but bright lights for us were the staff who were professional, friendly and really couldn’t do enough for you. We were also super impressed with the café. At lunchtime we had Serrano ham and bruschetta which would have graced any Italian restaurant in Italy and a delightful Asian Chicken salad which would have worked in any Thai one.
The location is convenient for Kings Park but a little inconvenient for the city centre which would be my only criticism. In saying that parking in town – even on a Saturday afternoon – did not prove to be a problem.
We liked it so much we returned at the end of our trip to WA.

Thank you fleetcat for your comments and in particular your feedback on The Conservatory Cafe, an area we recently upgraded and improved to provide breakfast and lunch year round. Thank you for the positive comments on the team who pride themselves in offering a warm and professional level of service - it's reassuring when the hard work is noticed and appreciated! Thank you for coming back before departing WA and we hope we will see you again soon.
