“The best hotel I have ever stayed in”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

The staff at this hotel are truly its best asset. They were extremely helpful, without being sycophantic, even down to feeding the parking meter in the morning so we didn't have to rush down. They were so welcoming when we arrived at 2am after travelling for 26 hours, and what a treat for the boys to have biscuits with their names iced on top waiting for them in the room. The hotel room was perfect for a family of four (we had a double double), lots of space for our two boys to chill out watching one of the children's DVDs borrowed from the hotel in the evening, while we ate our fabulous room service food at a proper dining table and chairs. We loved the fact we weren't ripped off by the mini bar (high street prices plus 10%) so we happily sampled the bottles of wine left in our kitchen. The whole place was spotlessly clean. If only this hotel was closer to home, we'd go back in a shot.

Thank you Yugesiw for your feedback and I was delighted to hear that we made your trip so enjoyable for you and your family. Although there have been lots of improvements since opening through customer feedback, changing location would be a step too far so you'll have to come back to Australia again to visit us! I will certainly take the time to share your generous comments with the team.

I can't say enough about this hotel. This is our second stay there and it just keeps getting better and better. From the personalized touch to the free wifi to the delicious, to the awesome view, to an even better suite and balcony it is remarkable. Make sure that you introduce yourself to Stephanie and Dan if they are not there to great you. Treat yourself, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing out toward Kings Park.

Thank you Grammeto9 for your feedback and thank you for choosing to stay with us again. We are fortunate to have balconies to all executive and deluxe rooms as well as our suites - ideal for enjoying some of the 3,200 hours of annual sunshine or the expansive, starry night sky. We look forward to welcoming you back to Perth in the near future.

I stayed at the Richardson twice recently. Despite arriving early in the morning my room was made available for me and the staff were very professional and warm. The rooms were great, serviced daily to a very high standard and the turn down service was a nice touch. Also had a couple of treatments in the spa which were fabulous (highly recommend the hot stone massage/facial combo!).
All feedback given on my first stay was considered and addressed in my second, which was very impressive as I had no complaints, simply small suggestions for improvement. The staff were very pleasant and genuine. Highly recommended.

Great lobby when we arrived - and they have accommodated to our request for early check-in. Love the cookie they have made - with my little girl's name on it. Very nice touch! Room is spacious and there is room for all of us to walk about.

Location is in CBD area - so when we were there during the weekend - it is rather quiet and no shopping for me. Was really sad.

Housekeeping was daily - but on the first day, my girl dirtied the fitted sheet with the choc biscuit given to her, and the next day the sheet was not changed - so when I returned late at night- we had to sleep in it. It was changed the following day.

Other than that - all else is good.

Thank you Jeanius15 for your comments and I was glad to read that you received a warm welcome on arrival. I sincerely apologise for not changing the sheets in the cot as this should have been done. In terms of our location, as with most hotels in Perth, the shopping areas are a reasonable walk / short cab ride and I am sorry if this was not explained prior to arrival. Thank you again for the feedback and we hope to welcome you back soon.

the first thing that strikes you about the richardson is it's location - you'd have to say it's in an unusual spot. or perhaps it's better described as "not the normal place to find a hotel of this quality". it's in west perth - nothing wrong with that per se. but it feels like you're in a business park. there are no shops or anything in the street, although there are some a short five minute stroll away.

that's not a criticism of any kind. it's just unusual for such a good hotel not to be more "in amongst it".

as others have said, it's a pretty low-key affair when you arrive. it actually feels more like you're checking into serviced apartments. but as others have said again, the service here is excellent. i'd have to say it's some of the best service i've ever received at any hotel anywhere.

the rooms were very nicely finished. at a quibble, mine was a little on the small side but very nice all the same. the plus to being in such a nondescript neighbourhood is how quiet it is at night - super quiet.

we had a few cocktails one night down in the bar and the barman was also excellent. very friendly and personable whilst still maintaining a professional "distance". and he made killer cocktails.

Thank you Capt_Funkelicious for your feedback and delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay. Perth is a sprawling metropolis rather than a concentrated nucleus - from the Central Business District to trendy areas like Subiaco, Leederville, Mount Lawley, our location works really well as you become more familiar with the city. And as you correctly pointed out, it's a quiet retreat that many enjoy - not always the case for city hotels! We look forward to welcoming you back.
