A family run business, relaxed atmosphere, friendly helpful people
Great location a few minutes from the beach, restaurants and stores, note that the accomodation is B&B, NOT a huge beach front hotel with balcony ,seaview and olympic sized swimming pool !
there good at what they do, no complaints, I'd go back .......
as they say over that part of the world " no worries "

Beach Manor is in a wonderful location - a few minutes walk to the beach...On arrival, we found an envelope taped to the front door with instructions on where to find our room - the Beach Room 'with ocean views' - but with a large chunk of the house in the way...Little touches missing - no glasses in the room for water - no 'fridge - although it says in the blurb that there is one in each room - given the heat in Perth, a 'fridge is essential - there is a 'fridge in the breakfast area, but who wants to go traipsing out there everytime you want a cool drink..?

Only one bedside table - I had to put my book, specs etc on the floor by the bed...

Breakfast - nothing to shout about - pretty standard fare - big letdown was the basket of toast which was accompanied by a tub of marg! Yuk - this had obviously been used many many times and had bits of toast and yukky looking stuff in a tub that was almost empty...I would have expected at least a neat little dish with real butter...
that was a real shock given the standards of the place...when hubby asked for toast as well, it arrived with another brand of marg in an equally yukky tub...

Having the Kreepy Krawly on at breakfast cleaning the pool - not what you would call a quiet breakfast!

Given that Beach Manor has such rave reviews and is in a fantastic location, we were disappointed by the lack of attention to detail...

Thanks for your comments, but unfortunately they're not accurate.
1. We only use premium Devondale butter (never margarine!)
2. Envelopes are only left out if you're hours out from your promised arrival time.
3. Your big new fridge with water is right outside your room (you must have passed it a dozen times).
4. Your room not only had a bedside table, it had a big cabinet that would fit a dozen books and a dozen sets of specs.
5. Apologies for the pool vacuum - daylight saving finished while you were here and that's why it was an hour later one morning.
Why didn't you simply pull the hose out ?
6. The co-host had a cancer operation and treatment during the time of the last reviews so please give us a break.

When we arrived, we were really impressed by the location -literally right on the beach which was fab. We were slightly bemused by the fact that we didn't get to meet any staff, just our key selotaped to the door, which was a bit odd. It had quite extensive notes with the key so I presume this was quite normal. Our room was not massive (we went for the ocean room to get the balcony), but had a lovely four poster bed but then realised that are sea view was partial (a bit of the house is actually in the way) and the balcony is shared with the next door room. Bearing in mind that there was only one table with two chairs (and the balcony was only big enough for that) we felt really disappointed and a bit mislead by their website as we had paid extra for it. The first night we did get to use it (which meant our neighbours didn;t) but unfortunately for us (and the B&B owners) we had a very unusual couple their the second night who decided to sit out there with just towels on and smoking, ensuring that we were trapped in our room.

On the plus side, the bathroom was nice and the pool downstairs is lovely. Breakfast was ok, nothing massive or amazing. Again with other experiences of other hotels in Australia we realised this had been very expensive in comparison but we presumed we were paying for location.
There are some lovely restaurants just 5 mins walk away, but this is at least 15/20 min drive out of the city with no traffic.

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately this guest didn't arrive at the time she promised, causing an envelope to be left out.
An ocean view room for $189 including gourmet cooked breakfast (see inclusions below) is the best deal along this coast. Perhaps if they'd turned up at breakfast time they would have seen how big it was.
The ocean room is 8.5 metres x 3 metres - very generous by B&B standards, so "size of room" is big.
The balcony with ocean views is also large and has extra chairs right there (if she had only looked). Sorry that we can't hand-pick fellow guests to your liking.
As for breakfast, other reviews show the truth - premium bacon, free range eggs, Margaret River yoghurt, fresh baked bread, fresh fruit salad, pure juices, Margaret River muesli, 6 cereals etc.
This alone is worth $50 a couple, so to suggest it's expensive for what's effectively $139 a night in a spacious room with an ocean view and four poster bed just isn't true.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Beach Manor's comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, helpful and generous hosts made our first visit to Perth very special. We will certainly be recommending this B & B to family and friends and hope to return in the not too distant future.

Our sincere thanks and best wishes to Erin, Rick, Jan and Staff.

PS - Great breakfasts!

We loved our stay at Beach manor. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The beautiful, tropical pool area with sun beds to relax on was perfect! We were able to relax by the pool and then head to beautiful Scarborough beach just across the road! Perfect location.

Our room was lovely with a comfy bed and ocean view balcony! We were able to relax on the balcony or by the pool or watch a dvd in our room or in the large screen tv in the guest area.

Breakfast was soo yummy! Each day we loved the Margaret River yoghurt and muesli with fresh fruit salad, topped off with homemade bacon, eggs and tomato!

Our hosts were so welcoming and helpful. We not only enjoyed chatting to them but also the other lovely guests staying there too. We loved the fact that it wasn't a big resort as the pool was never overcrowded and it was a lot more relaxing. We will definitely return and recommend to all our friends. We had the best time. Thanks so much Rick and Erin!
