This is an island in the Swan River, within sight of the city skyline. It is a beautiful oasis of calm. The best time to visit is in the evening before dark, when the rangers come to feed the kangaroos. There are around half a dozen of them, roaming free on their own part of the island and they don't mind a bit if you want to stroke them or just enjoy watching them. Its the simplest visit to make - just park and walk through the gate and look for them.
