“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Found the main buffet very disappointing with not a huge choice of food on offer, not as good as it used to be! Dessert buffet is good thou! Service very good but just not worth the money, won't be returning!

“High Tea at the Hyatt - make sure you don't have lunch beforehand!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Once again went to the Hyatt for high tea with the girls - it's become a yearly tradition, although last year made the big mistake of going somewhere else.

High Tea is a buffet with a mixture of hot and cold food. The cost per person was $55 which included all the sparkling wine you can drink. The food as usual was delicious.

High Tea is served from 3pm to 5pm and by about 4pm we had all consumed far too many calories than we should have - lucky it's only once a year.

You do need to book in advance - although at this time of the year there appeared to be plenty of room - we normally go in December and then you definitely need to book in advance. Try and sit in the fountain area where there is a piano player.

The range of savoury food is limited but the choice of cakes, desserts and ice-cream is huge. What ever you do make sure you try the blood orange sorbet and the mango ice-cream.

“Always Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Consistently good food and service are what matters and the Café at the Hyatt has never failed to deliver.

Just be careful about peak/busy times but apart from that you can't go wrong.

“Great buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

We went here for our children's birthday and it also happened to be the Cafe's 5th birthday on the same day! To celebrate that we got a sparkling wine on the house and for the children's birthday, they got a birthday dessert with a candle and the waitresses even sang happy birthday :) Nice touch.

It was a Moroccan day and we got to taste all sorts of different things that you wouldn't normally have at a buffet. It was all yummy and freshly prepared. The size of the buffet isn't that big but the quality of the food more than makes up for that. It would be good if the different dishes were labelled so you knew what they were or had an idea what was in them.

The service generally was excellent - the empty plates were never left too long and the drinks topped up - attentive but not intrusive.

The only reason I didn't give 5 starts was because there were a couple of mouldy strawberries on the dessert bar - with actual mould too. I didn't realise until I was back at my seat and the waitress I pointed it out to wasn't too interested.

We would definitely return to try another cuisine :)

“Great food great service”

Fast friendly and great food. The cost is what you would expect in Australia! The mains were hot fresh and beautifully presented.
