“A little stuck up”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

used to go there for the tea.. used to love the food and service.. and the shopping.. recommended to lots of friends. but lately the managers are bit stuck up and very unfriendly. unwelcoming.. too big for their boots....
keeping away till they come back to earth.

“9.5/10 - close to perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

What a sensational find. The whole place is fantastic & a hidden gem. Main restaurant at front, courtyard in middle & rear plus a little store at the back. Great decor, furnishings & atmosphere. Awesome team running the place & the food is well above average. I highly recommend booking a table (rarity in this industry) but well worth the visit. $5.00 tea is a bonus when you can try anything you like as many times as you like.

“Charming and quaint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Four of us went for a great lunch. We had tasting plates and mains, then we just had to have deserts. The house branded wine was very good. It was a hot day and there were a couple of flies, but everything else was great. We will go back.

“High Tea? Yes, please”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Three friends and I visited this lovely place for High Tea. It was my first visit. The building is beautiful and the decor was so fitting for a business such as this. We were greeted by a very friendly gent (the owner) who showed us to our table and inquired whether we needed extra time as one of our party had not yet arrived. We had a choice of Champagne or Frappe. Our host recommended a Lemon/Lime Frappe, for the non alcoholic drinkers. It was delicious. The presentation and variety of the food, was beautiful. The china cups and saucers were so delightful. The waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. Our host helped and encouraged us to try different teas and gave us the background on each. In no way did we feel hurried, in fact, quite the opposite, we had a long chat with our host, who spoke in a glowing, proud and considerate way about his staff.
A truly wonderful experience, which I would love to repeat. Congratulations, keep doing what you are doing. It works!

“Nice but felt neglected!?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

Paying a pretty penny for our meals, we would have at least expected service that is synonymous with feeling welcome. This was not really the case. The guy who served us was initially polite but soon ignored us and then another wait person came to the rescue. She unfortunately brought us someone else's meals. Then another guy set our table and brought our meals. All a bit confused and unsettling. Great interior but the service puts a powerful handbrake on enjoyment of any kind. The satay chicken was nice but some overcooked chicken pieces made it a little unpleasant. Wife enjoyed her Singapore Noodles. Went and paid for the bill and no one said thank you or goodbye. What the? Is my custom really not required in your establishment? As a Maylands local I don't think I will be back to this ungrateful establishment. Isn't it a bad thing to make locals feel unwelcome?
