“Rude Staff”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

Had the unfortunate experience of unexpectedly on my most recent business trip to Perth of having to change my plans to satisfy a cutomers request only to find the staff at Mont Clare Apartments dont have the same appreciation for customer service or a willingness to at least try and understand that not everything is within your own control.
Wanting to change a nights accomadation (not get a refund) to a future date, was told NO Mont Clare Appartments policy is if you cant make the night you booked for then nothing can be done. The phone manner was rude and arrogant.
To travel extensively with work and this is the first time I have ever felt the need to comment on a hotels staff in a negative manner.

We spent 1 night here & were very impressed.
Good sized rooms, with modern furnishings.
Excellent location.
Plenty of cafes nearby.
Complementary parking.
Quiet location.
Only took 15 mins to airport next morning
Would certainly return again.

We stayed 3 nights here. It is a self catering type of apartment. There is no change of towels nor housekeeping every day. Free cleaning service is provided only once a week. We experienced a few hazards with the bathroom. The soap dish has a crack, which can be dangerous if you are not careful. There is also an odd block of hazard next to the wash basin. Apart from these faults, the bedroom was fine. Location is also quite convenient. It is a 3 min walk to the Red Cat bus stop. I would not come back to this apartment. I think there are better choices available.

We only stayed one night but we were happy. Reception is only opened limited hours but they left a key in a spot for us. Only down side was there didn't appear to enough parking underground. Rooms were fully self contained. They looked like they had only just been refurbished. We left early in the morning but again the instructions were clear on where to leave the key. Bargain price too!!

Good units. Well equipped. Quiet. Walking distance to lots of things. Good pool. Car parking was a bit tight but ok. They were short on key cards when we arrived so we only got one between the 4 of us but we managed. We were very happy with our stay and would stay again.

I have stayed here twice in the past week. Once in a 2 bed, 1 bath & then in a 2 bed 1.5 bath.
Both were perfectly presented & clean.

The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable as are the pillows.

Parking is included in the price whereas many other apartments charge you extra for parking.

The reception is not open like hotels and when we arrived at 8pm we had to get our key out of the lockbox and when we departed at 8am we just popped it in the box. Quite organised really.

The kitchens are well equipt with enough stuff to stay for longer times & cook if needed.

There are bottle shops close by, a nice pub and a nice Italian restaurant all walking distance. It's also close to the WACA and the trots & not too far from the city.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

We stayed 4 nights in a 3brm apartment on the top floor. As some people have mentioned the lift only goes to Level 5 and then there is a steep set of stairs - not for the elderly or for carting strollers up and down but we managed OK.

The balconies are small and exposed so don't expect to be sitting outside sipping a glass of wine. They purely serve to get some fresh air. Ours looked over the car park and pool.

The room wasn't painted the nice mauve colour that you see on the internet - ours was bland beige (or white?) but was functional and the furnishings were OK. Our only complaint with the whole apartment was the noisy fridge which we had to turn off each night in order to get to sleep.

The bathrooms are in need of a makeover but they were still clean. Its a strange set up with the bathrooms though, with one bathroom accessed through the main bedroom and the other accessed through the 3rd twin bedroom. This third bedroom opens off a little foyer inside the door and can be closed off to create a 2brm apartment. As the previous review mentions this third bedroom has no windows or natural light so gets pretty hot and stuffy in summer.

The pool was nice and quite warm as it gets a lot of sun. Its long enough for swimming laps if you are that way inclined.

The afterhours check-in worked well and we were given a second swipe card from reception when we asked for one.

There are several reasonable eating options within a couple of blocks - we had a nice meal at the Bluerock Bistro a couple of doors up and two dinners at the Grosvenor Hotel which is about 2 blocks towards the CBD.
