“Eh...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

A relatively small art gallery who it seems had to borrow art from Kerry Stokes to fill their space. Kerry (male or female?) Had an 'odd' collection of art which was just saved by some pieces by Monet and Picasso. Not impressive at all.
The Aboriginal art was disappointing as there were only a few artists' work. There was however one artist who painted landscapes (Beaver Lennon) who I found exceptional on his depiction of the Australian land. Alternatively, there were other stunning South Australian artwork on display.
They didn't let me carry my water bottle in my hand however I was allowed to place it in my bag. Interestingly, they had a children's art section amongst the art displays where they could use coloured pencils. I think children and pencils are a bigger risk than me carrying a water bottle...
Gift shop was very disappointing as we had dome American tourists who were desperate to buy some souvenirs. Instead the items for sale were 'arty' and ridiculously overpriced. A shame for our overseas friends.

“very interesting exhibition”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

great opportunity to view renowned, international artwork in a special exhibition. The general collection is also very worthwhile to check out. It was a most enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours in Perth.

“A good Gallery by World's Standards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

I was fortunate to spend almost 2 hours in the gallery and was glad I did. I was quite surprised by the number of collections they have. Staff were extremely pleasant. There is no painting of a railway track that seems to follow you. The MOMA exhibition was on at the time which was great

“Very educational”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Its small, however well set out to keep one occupied for a few hours. It can be rather expensive to see the exhibitions, however the general viewing areas are fun to explore.

“Always amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013

I have been here on previous visits, but the current special exhibit of "Van Gogh, Dali and beyond" particularly piqued my interest. The halls are spacious, allowing viewing pieces from just about any distance you choose...and I have always found that there is always another vista to find from a different angle.
