“Central location/clean and tidy.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

Check in and out done quickly. Staff are great. Room clean and tidy, bed comfortable, only complaint is the pillows they are too soft. Light airy room with big windows. Looking out over the roof at the side and a wall the other side. Not a problem for us we only slept here. Central location allows you to get around without any hassles. Checkout the parking it's a little excessive, and so is breakfast at $28 per head, we headed off to the Dome just down the road.

We stayed in a club floor room. The queen bed may have been comfortable for one person but certainly wasn't for two people. When either person turned over the whole bed wobbled about.
We stayed 4 nights. The club floor evening drinks and 'nibbles' were the same every night. All the staff were very efficient and helpful.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Rooms are world class, and spot on for a 5 star. Modern appointments in the living space, with a good bathroom. The Club Queen room was more than adequate for my stay (solo, business).

The executive lounge is good if you want free alcohol. Don't expect a huge array of filling snacks though, 'decent antipasto nibbles to go with your wine' is how I would describe it. I think it's probably worth paying a few extra dollars to gain access to the lounge if you'd be drinking anyway, otherwise don't bother as the lounge itself isn't mind blowing.

The only thing I could comment semi-negatively on is the bar fridge in the room. There was no cupboard door to conceal it, as it has a glass door. Looks great, and tempts one to dive into the refrigerated snacks (by the way, well played Rydges, it worked!). But I wasn't sleeping heavily and would get woken up by the motor in the fridge every now and then. I'm not the lightest sleeper usually, so it didn't bother me too much... and this is a lot to write about a bar fridge...but thought I should mention for those who are light sleepers.

Room Tip: Great service, decent cafe/restaurant, excellent location. Club lounge is ok - good for free alcohol...

Hi There Young Aussie Exec,

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments on Trip Advisor. I appreciate your thoughts and indeed take on board your comments regarding the Mini Bar Fridge.

I wouldn't go as far to say that we are five star - but loved the sentiment of your comments and hope we see you back at Rydges one day.

Regards
Graeme

I have stayed here many times and just love it. You could'nt get a better location in the city and would be hard to find better value for money. Service is excellent, foods great, nothing bad to say really.

This hotel is right in the middle of the Central Business District of Perth. At weekend there are dozens of eating, drinking and entertainment options within 5 minutes walk. The hotel itself has comfort rooms and friendly efficient service. The open to the street restaurant was a good place for lunch and breakfast. Incidentals such as laundry, minibar etc are expensive in this hotel but to be fair I found them expensive all over Australia.

Reasonably priced, clean comfortable but dimly lit fifth floor room with a underwhelming view of a cement wall, Staff friendly and efficient, especially Marie at the front desk who helped with directions, dining suggestions etc. Hotel located within 2 minutes walk of Shafto Lane (across Hay St two minutes walk to the left) , houses a lively pub and café strip. Interesting shops close by, Miss Maud's delightful Swedish bakery next door for scrumptious breakfast and tea time treats.
Quick walk to Hay and Murray Street malls, Swan River etc.
Would recommend for stay in Perth CBD.

Room Tip: Rooms above sixth floor probably have a view.

Hi AussiesX5,

Thanks for the great feedback and also for making special mention of Marie - she is a real asset to the reception team. Appreciate you staying with us in Perth and I apologise about the lack of a view this time from your room allocation. Hopefully that doesn't stop you from staying with us again one day.

Regards
Graeme.
