Spent our final 3 days in WA at the Novetel Langley. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite through an Accor deal for staying 3 or more nights.

Despite not all good reviews for the Langley we were very happy with our stay and enjoyed our views to the East over the Swan River. Our rooms were very well appointed, had a TV in both the living room and bedroom which was handy as the World Cup was on while we were there. A top, well appointed little kitchen was included in the suite but didn’t get much use as we used the excellent restaurant at the Hotel for our meals. The Irish Pub attached to the Hotel was a lively place and meals were available there as well. The bathroom was very small and would be the reason we rated the hotel 4 star instead of 5. Good breakfast each day as well.

The Hotel is located on Adelaide Terrace, a bit out of the centre but walking was not a problem for us and public transport was readily available. All buses are free in the city centre but if you want to ride the CAT service it just meant walking one block. We caught a bus right out the front of the Hotel to take us to Kings Park at the weekend and return.

Lovely walks along the Swan River was another highlight from the Hotel and it was an easy scenic walk to the Ferry Terninal to go to Fremantle.

Can't comment on the standard rooms but guess most would not have the Swan views or unobstructed views but that is the case in lot of places in Perth.

  • Liked — Views of the Swan river, suite accommodation.
  • Disliked — No problems

We stayed at the Novotel Langley for 3 nights in April 2006. We had a regular room on the 7th floor. The room was clean, and furnishings were nice. The service staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, that's really the only good thing I can say about the hotel. We had breakfast once at the hotel buffet and it was just overrun with kids screaming and running around. The staff could not clean and clear the tables fast enough, and consequently we were stepping on soiled napkins and the like. The food was good, but your typical breakfast buffet.

The conceirge was not that knowledgeable. We were there during Anzac Day (big mistake as EVERYTHING was closed and there was nothing to do). We asked the Conceirge for suggestions and he drew a blank! Told us the Mint was opened when in fact it was closed (we found that out the hard way after walking there in the rain). Actually, the Art Gallery and Western Australia museum was opened, but the concierge failed to tell us that. These are two huge tourist attractions. You would think the conceirge would have some idea of their opening hours on a public holiday.

Also, during our stay, the facilities on the 12th floor were undergoing renovations so we could not use the gym or sauna. There was no alternative offered.

Overall, it's a nice and clean hotel, but I'm not sure if I would stay here again. Maybe if I didn't have a better choice.

Stayed here for two nights only, not a good location, the bar downstairs was incredibly noisy, the resturant was poor. The rooms were small, overall very dissapointing, staff tried hard, but would recomend giving this one a miss

We travelled to Perth from Sydney for a weeks break staying three nights at the Langley. The rooms have been recently renovated - they have gone for a 'Westin' style of room.

Have to admit, as we were touring, we didn't spend a great deal of time at the hotel but as they go, it’s not bad. Its close to everything you need - the Swan River, Barrack Street Wharfs (boats to Fremantle & Rottnest) and close to both the city and Northbridge (great places for dinner).

The rooms are comfortable however we found that it was a little noisy - could hear the people next door to us and also the sewer system was loud - sounded like the tap was running all night - definitely close your bathroom door at night !

The hotel has a lobby bar, restaurant, and an Irish bar attached. The Irish bar is great for a beer after a long days site seeing. The restaurant is OK - try it if you can't come up with a better option or are being lazy otherwise avoid.

I'd recommend it if you are not planning to stay loads of time in your room - not bad for a day or two.

We stayed for 4 nights and were very impressed by the service from all staff and from the front desk receptionists, in particular from DEE. Hotel is central for all aspects of Perth, rooms well appointed, comfortable, clean and quiet, just what we wanted after a long flight. We have recommended the hotel to our travel agent in the U.K.
