“Looking tired and no parking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

A short walk to the Perth mall and walking distance to many amenities and facilities. The hotel is looking tired but is of good value. Was a bit annoyed as I had to use the adjoining private parking facility as it appers that the hotel does not provide free parking for its customers.

Stayed at the Kings Perth Hotel for one night whilst on business. It was hard initially to find a vacancy at a Perth CBD hotel midweek and all the hotels on the various "discount" websites were quite expensive, many well over $400. Was told that hotels in Perth are expensive during the week but cheaper on weekends. At $335 for one night, the Kings Perth Hotel, whilst expensive is very centrally located. Very friendly and helpful staff on the reception desk. The room itself was spotlessly clean but tired. Very 70's decor etc. Would have been nice to have some basin/bath plugs provided however that's minor detail. Time permitting in future, I would probably seek out a cheaper and more modern hotel down Fremantle way. Pool was closed for repairs.

Room Tip: Avoid Perth CBD hotels midweek if you.

The location is not too near to Hay Street, but just 7mintues walk away. The was rather rowdy at night and we watched a fight between a thief and the security of the convenience store just opposite the street on our last day of accommodation. The lighting along the corridor is dim and the rooms are rather dark but things worked pretty well. There was a short circuit on the last night of our stay but there weren't sufficient instructions given to us even after waiting for 15minutes. Hence, we grabbed our important documents to gather at the hotel lobby along with many others who brought along their luggage only to know that it is a false alarm when we saw everyone going back to their rooms. Makes a good 'B&B'if you aren't too fussy.

This hotel is a short walk from Barrack Street wharf for cruises to Swan Valley and Fremantle and ferries, shopping and only 3 blocks to Perth railway station.

It is best described as an older hotel with some maintenance definitely required. Rooms are large with a refrigerator and shower/small bath. Beds are very comfortable I found and new large screen TVs available. Reception staff are all friendly and helpful (except one I encountered)
Great value.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The rooms are dark and dingy and very outdated. The water was off for 16hrs during our stay.! There are much nicer hotels in the area. I would give this one a miss.

One of the most horrible hotels I have ever been in. Old, smelly, dirty and overall a bad experience. Bed was soft and needed upgrading. mould in showers, appliances out of date holes in ironing board, iron didn't work and sadly the list goes on, it was so bad I didn't shower until we arrived at a new hotel. I think you get the gist say clear of this hotel there are far better value hotels in Perth.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

The hotel is dated and needs a spruce up to validate the room rates which has been one of the highest I have paid (but I am told all Perth is costly). There were some renovations going on while we were there. Come out of the lift and the corridors are dark and musty, the room was only slightly better and we had a glorious view of the Car park, so left curtains closed. One day the room didn't get cleaned and for some reason there is no door on the shower so the whole bathroom got wet. On the good side, it is well located for the city centre and the free CAT bus is 50m down the road. Breakfast included was good, the only downside was the coffee (they would have done better with a kettle and instant granuals). The receptionist deserves the stars as she (indonesian lady) was very helpful and gave good advice. Car park $12/day at the side of the hotel.
