“Extremely high standards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2010

Excellent accommodation for a motel/hotel. Room very compact but had all items one comes to expect these days. Lovely decor and colour scheme, good clean shower with good toileteries, very comfy beds, with additional blankets if needed. Excellent location with swimming pool.

This hotel has a great location right in the cbd and a few seconds from the train station.
The hotel is secure with a24hr reception and secure lift to the rooms. The general areas of the hotel are well maintained.
Check in was effecient and as expected.
The rooms certainly lack any character and are simple. It a no frills experience. Great for somewhere to sleep, but you wouldnt want to spend any extended time in the grey box type rooms. But they were clean with a comfortabled bed (unless you like firm beds) and had everything you'd need for a basic stay. A couple of annoyances are the dim, non directional fluro lighting and lacks little convenient things like plug sockets near the bed and space in the bathroom to put your toiletries out.
The room was serviced abd replenished to the best it could bearing in mind the age of the room.
I did not experience any noise late at night and it is directly next to the moon n sixpence pub, but this was not an issue.
In all, the location was great and it is what the name suggests, a comfortable inn, but it wouldnt be one to write home about

This is a very old property with timber flooring and you may hear sound while walking on it. Room is simple with foxtel tv , our 2 bedroom unit comes ith a simple kitchen which is very handy, despite being old it is nicely mentained but the location is brilliant, just off the pedestrain mall along Murray Street. The excellence location also means street noise and the construction proceess outside the hotel might continue deep into the night. If the noise is not a problem for you than this is a perfect place to stay with the low rate compare to others around this area. The hotel doesn't provide any parking facility so if you are driving, this is not an ideal place as the parking rate in this city is very high.

You could probably not wish for amore central location, slap in the middle of town and alongside everything however the rooms are quite run down and drab. Its all painted in a battleship grey colour and the room lights are really dim (25watt). Very worn and dated cane furnishings and old tiled bathrooms with the 60's touch of metal framed panel windows fitted with frosted glass and a skylight over the entry door with the glass paited grey. Some of the old latches on the windows dont work and some louvres cannot be closed so the room got a little noisy. The bathroom had a step down and the door didnt fit the frame so its couldnt be fully closed! Old fashioned aircon units that rattle a little. The room however was spotlessly clean even though the noise from the pubs below could be heard until almost midnight. Staff are friendly and helpful and they let you leave your luggage in a locked storage are. No parking provided and local city car parks can cost up to $24 a time!

I was worried about my choice of the Wentworth Hotel, but we were really happy with it. It is centrally located, close to the Murray and Hay street malls, the Perth Railway station a couple of minutes away. We thought it was good value for the money we paid. The only problem we found was that our room was over the pub downstairs and on Friday night the pub music was very loud and went on till after 2.00am. However we were still very happy with our room and that I had chosen the Wentworth Hotel. They have a fantastic free bus network (CAT'S) in central Perth which we made use of. We went to a friend's wedding on the weekend and made use of the train out to Midland station. The Perth train station was so close to our hotel. We would definitely stay at the Wentworth again.

Recently went to Perth and found this hotel to be perfectly situated in the city! Directly across from the underground station on Murray Street and on the surface bus line as well! Cross the street to the Murray Street Pedestrian Mall, and one block to the Hay Street Pedestrian Mall puts you right in the center on wonderful shopping and opportunities to meet and interact the locals! Just a short walk to the river front or Kings Park. If you don't care to walk, buses are FREE within the city center. Fantastic beaches and Freemantle are a short train/bus ride away (get the all day pass). Restaurants and bars in town are nice, including the two on the ground floor of the hotel. Overall, this hotel is a bit old, however, it shows it's age gracefully. Rooms were nice, but due for a makeover. (We had a kitchenette, which more than made up for the lack of "elegance"), Staff was EXCELLENT, pointing us to areas of Perth that others (even locals) were not aware of ( just a 20 minutes walk and you're in a hidden gem with free ranging 'roos and very few people... if you know where to go). You won't find many foreigners in this hotel, and the Aussies are friendly. I highly recommend the place: When in Australia, stay where the Aussies stay!

Prices a bit stiff concerning room standard, but excellent location concerning sightseeing, shopping and transport! Recommended if you're not demanding fancy design!
