“Nice Park and View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2013

That park is in walking distance away from Perth's CBD.

It's actually located on a little hill overlooking the swan river, the CBD and as far as you can see the easterly and southerly suburbs as well as the Darling Range.
There are plenty of grass areas to sit on as well as benches and walking trails to go for a stroll around the beautiful park. Plenty of different local plants are to be seen. If you are there in early spring watch out for orchids, which are pretty unique.
It doesn't matter if you go there during the day or at night time, it's always fantastic. I really like the road with those ghost gum-trees.
Every now and then is there a festival (open air concerts or cinema) going on. So have a look.

“Kings Park War Memorial, Perth, W.A.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

This is set in 500 acres of gardens and looks out over the Swan River. There are memorials to both World Wars, the Vietnam War and a memorial to the victims of the Bali bombing. Each avenue of the park is shaded with trees planted by families to remember their fallen loved ones. Walk along and remember them. There is a special section with a standing stone to remember the 2nd/2nd Battalion of Australian soldiers who remained in East Timor after the occupation as a guerilla force.
Our current SAS grew from this battallion. Anual Memorial services take place on Anzac Day, Rememberance Day and special battalion rememberance days. The Dawn Service on Anzac Day preceeds the annual Anzac Day March through Perth. Come early as many, many people gather to remember.

“Kings Park War Memorial”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

This war memorial is situated in an unsurpassed location atop the hill in Kings Park, Perth, overlooking the Swan River and city. It is a fitting memorial to those who lost their lives in successive wars and will make you stop and think - it is sobering but also uplifting. It is worth the visit.

“War dead well honored here”

Very nice with trees memorializing the dead. Heart wrenching to see so many young people long gone but lovely to see them not forgotten.

“War memorial”

This is a beautiful tribute to our soldiers and I especially love the whispering wall. My husband's great grandfather was the architect.
