Food: Unfortunately, only average. Yes, the chef-made noodles were nice (though a tad too chewy in the case of the Udon,) but the soup of the Udon dish was only okay. The seafood-chilli-noodle-soup dish was decent, and the ramen was nice. The main meals, served without rice or noodles, were stodgy and unappealing. Noodle dish prices are very good, however the main meals are quite expensive for what you get.
Service: Atrocious. One main meal ordered was said to contain a mixture of pork, seafood, and vegetables, and when it arrived had no pork. When we asked the waitstaff if this was a mistake, we were told it was a mistake, that there is no pork in this dish. We swapped it out for a different meal, and we are then told that we must pay for both dishes. After much argument and back and forth, we convinced them that we should not be liable to pay for the first meal.
Ambience: A standard café/family dining set up.
Overall: I would never go back here again. I would never recommend it. I find that the way the staff handled the problem—which was entirely the restaurant's fault for having incorrectly printed menus—disgusting, and would never dine here again. Especially since the food was only average, I know of many other places to go where the food is better, and cheaper, than at Charm Restaurant.
