“Lovely rooms, friendly people & good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

Myself and my wife stayed here with Rose and Michael during a recent holiday. The rooms are luxurious and had all the comforts we could need. Rose and Michael were very helpful with suggestions about eating out, trips and the local area. Breakfast was excellent with both cold and hot food all freshly prepared. The location is good. Although a bit out from the centre, the free regular bus service stops about a 2 minute walk away. One bus takes you right into centre of town within minutes. Also, nearby is a small river tributary with nesting swans and one bank is lined with restaurants and bars. "The Royal" bar and restaurant was our favourite with excellent food and service.

Marvellous! Our hosts Rose and Michael did everything possible to make our visit enjoyable. Terrific location, close to free city bus service and great waterside restaurants. Try Blackbird..really very good cooking and service. The B and B is very much 'hands on' and it shows! A delicious cooked breakfast is included if you want it.

Room Tip: We had the penthouse, great provided you don't mind the stairs!

We picked this place as it was only a 5 min walk to the weekly parkrun at Claisebrok Cove. It is also well located near to the free frequent bus service into CBD.Plenty of places to eat and drink in the Cove and quite convenient to/from airport.Hosts Michael and Rose were very accomodating and cook up a beautiful breakfast for you. Well recommended

Room Tip: We stayed in the 'Italian Room' which was very grand and beautiful

We stayed here twice in June on our way to and from Exmouth. Rose and Michael could not have been more helpful, and we followed their advice on how to spend the short time we had in the city. As first timers in Australia we were delighted to be able to walk just down the road and stroke kangaroos! Very exciting for us. It is a very quiet area, but there are several good restuarants nearby which cater for vegetarians and it is very convenient to use the free buses in and out of the city centre. The local restuarants are situated by the water and its very pretty at night. Both rooms we had were excellent with everything provided. The penthouse is ridiculously huge, but a bit chilly in winter! The smaller room was fine, and both rooms had balconies. Yes - there are a lot of stairs if you have mobility problems, but Michael kindly helped us up and down the stairs with our heavy bags. Breakast is great - anything you want really. Do visit the roos, and the boat trip to Freemantle was great too. William Street in the city has some excellent asian restuarants - we found one of the best Indian restuarants we've ever been to! Maya Masala. Perth, and Australia in general, is expensive for us Brits, but this is much nicer than staying in a hotel and worth every penny.

We stayed in the city last time we visited Perth, but this area is far better. It's much quieter, but with the free City Cat bus close by, is just as convenient. There are several decent restaurants within a few minutes' walk, and an excellent pizza takeaway just round the corner (forget the name, but NOT Domino's!). You definitely don't need a car.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Rose and Michael are extremely welcoming and a mine of useful information; breakfasts are excellent; our bed was the most comfortable we slept in during the whole of our 6 weeks away from home (the pillows were great too, which isn't always the case); bath towels were huge (though the smaller ones were just too small to wrap round wet hair); and there's an honesty bar in the main room.

As someone said, this is not the place for anyone with mobility problems as there are quite a few stairs, they're quite steep and there's no lift. We stayed in the room on the main level, which is fairly small, but Rose & Michael are happy for you to use their sitting room and balcony, and will lend you cutlery and crockery if you need it. The bathroom just has a shower (which we prefer anyway), so no difficulties with a bath.

It's not a cheap option - but then nowhere in Perth is - but it's way better than staying in an impersonal hotel.

Would we stay again - absolutely!

My husband and I spent three nights with Rose and Michael in April and found the experience wonderful. Our room had a lovely balcony, where we were able to sit and relax after walking all over Perth. The room was great and breakfast perfect. The amenities in the bathroom are first class and the towels large and fluffy. I agree with another review about the bath/shower - the sides are high and use care when getting out. Rose accommodated all requests at breakfast and Michael makes a good cup of coffee! The location is perfect; you are out of the hustle and bustle of the city, but a very short walk to the CAT, free bus service around Perth. Rose makes you feel like a long time friend and we enjoyed talking with her and even getting to play with her grandson. Consider yourself lucky if you can stay here. It was truly a great find.

We stayed with Rose and Michael for 3 days and were delighted with their place. We were on the top floor that I can recommend as it has the best views and a SPA bath.
The location id great for those without a car its less than 2 minutes walk to the free bus service and 5 minutes to a huge range of restaurants / bars.
The room was spotless and the hosts great, Rose can cook a very good breakfast.
There are only 2 things to watch, the place has quite steep steps in the staircase and the bath was difficult to enter as it was very high at the sides. So its not suitable for people with mobility issues.
I can highly recommend this B&B
