We stayed at a local hotel, with check-out at 10am - this meant we had missed the hotel breakfast which ended at 9am - so we wandered down to the beach to find a cafe.
Upon entering, reception staff said "hang on a minute" and left us standing there quite a long while.
Most of the seatings are high stools or uncomfortable metal chairs but we did manage to grab a comfy booth setting.
Drinks orders were prompt with ordering and delivery.... but then........ ...... ..... ...... ..... nothing.
Although the cafe did not look busy and service staff were milling around, totally unrushed - The food took more than 45 minutes to arrive!! This seemed extreme for just a couple of eggs.
My guy was famished.
He ended up so irritable and hangry about the food delays that I almost couldn't keep him in his seat. He wanted to walk out and leave the venue completely. I insisted we stay as we did actually drink our coffees already. The place was significantly clearing and looked almost empty of other guests and yet our food was served so late, with no mention by staff. When I brought it up the waitstaff just said, "yeah there's not enough people in the kitchen" - not really good enough.
So.... we then wolfed it down, starving, and went to pay.........
..... ..... ...... "Hang on a minute, I'm on the phone" ..... ..... .... .....
.... ..... ..... ...... ......
Biting our tongues not to complain too much, we got out as fast as we could.
We stay at the local hotels, semi-often, but wont eat breakfast here again, even though the food quality was actually very nice and the ocean view location is exceptional.
